Liverpool signed a kid from Oldham for 250k called, I think, Karl Harrison. He was going to be a superstar

Rumour was Liverpool only signed him to stop United getting him. Got a serious injury after the move and never realy came back.

im too young to remember this but <a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/3037207/Philip-on-Saturday-A-great-career-cut-short.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... short.html</a>

proper feel for him tbh must be gutting

Gianluigi Lentini, most expensive footballer at 13m in 1992 when it was A.C milan ruining football.

Billy Kenny, probably Everton's Paul Lake, except it was drugs not injury that stopped him making it.

Ian Scott would have been excellent if it hadn't been for injury, I always feel a bit sorry for him as Paul Lake rightly gets the "could have been" tag but Scott has always been forgotten. We ruined Steve Redmond by putting too much pressure on him too early, wasn't he captain at 21?

How about Lee Sharpe and Russell Beardsmore?
