Higuain

Was. They are both aging old stars. Sagna is a far superior defender and Alves a superior offensive player.
Oh come on, there's club bias and then there's arguing that Sagna, a perfectly respectable right back, is in any way comparable to Dani Alves, the standout right back of his generation and arguably one of the greatest right backs in the history of the game.

But we are talking about now, not historically. Alves was an average back last season, and he is likely weaker now. Trust me I rail against blue tinted view too. I'm just not sure Alves is better than Sagna today.

While it is not dispositive, their whoscored ratings had Sagna ranked higher last season. Better in most defensive categories. And while this is not proof Sagna is better, it is arguable he was. And that alone suggests Alves wasn't the marauding dominant RB of yesteryears. The current one is just a shell of what he used to be.

Personally, I think currently Sagna is actually better. But I recognize others might believe otherwise. But what is clear to me is that they are close enough that both positions are legitimate and arguable withoutit being the functionof blue tinted glasses.

I think you're a fucking idiot yourself mate. At least the other people on here can actually debate. You're just one of these tools who's no real intelligence so you have to resort to petty insults rather than discuss the topic.
I couldn't give a fuck. There's no point me repeating what everyone else is telling you.

If City had signed the players Juve have, you'd be throwing a fit.

Personally I feel that Whoscored ratings, and stats in general, are nonsense given that football is a game that depends so heavily on intangibles. So I don't really give any credence to which player had a huge Whoscored rating when comparing players.

As for Alves, he's obviously not peak Alves, but from what I've been told by my Barcelona-supporting friends he is still a top class right back coming off a good, if not spectacular, season. If he was average I doubt Barcelona would have tried to convince him not to leave.

In either case, signing him on a free promises to be a very good bit of business. My initial point was that Juve's transfer dealings aside from Higuain been pretty great, as they bought some very good players at reasonable prices.

He is a world class player. The arguable fees are those being paid by some of the English clubs for average players.
So what your saying is the Higuain deal is good value? Go back to bed Marv.

I did not say it was good value. If I wanted to say that, I would have said it. Higuain is one of the best in Europe and has been for many seasons. If they sign him, stands to reason it will be a very high fee. I can't really see why you are getting wound up by this.
