Only once . Too sweaty . Are your boots leaking or did you step in a bog ? I've mainly given up trying to keep my feet dry on the moors in anything but the coldest weather , mostly wearing trail runners with or without ankle support , which dry out quickly. Feet stay warm unless it's freezing cold . For winter I wear leather boots, not gortex membrane, as once the gortex gets punctured you might as well have your foot in a bucket . But they do cost ....Anyone used carrier bags between their socks and boots to keep their feet dry , mine got a bit damp 10 mins in to a 10 mile trek round bacup today ?View attachment 137834some cracking views , could see for yards when I got a bit higher up
I got a couple of pairs of waterproof socks a few years ago and have been pretty happy with them. They’re not cheap ($20-30 over here in the US), but work quite well. My feet do end up a bit wet from sweating, but stay pretty warm.Anyone used carrier bags between their socks and boots to keep their feet dry , mine got a bit damp 10 mins in to a 10 mile trek round bacup today ?View attachment 137834some cracking views , could see for yards when I got a bit higher up
'You don't want to be going down there. Not by the old tree. Beautiful old tree'.
No point. I've tried Sealskinz waterproof socks before and you just get soaking with sweat.Anyone used carrier bags between their socks and boots to keep their feet dry , mine got a bit damp 10 mins in to a 10 mile trek round bacup today ?View attachment 137834some cracking views , could see for yards when I got a bit higher up
I’ve got wide feel. I can’t get on with Scarpa and lot of the other top end brands which I’ve tried. I’ve had a pair of Berghaus Explorer Ridge boots for 10 years that are like wearing slippers and still going strong.Trying to bed in my new karrimor boots and failing , karrimor have never previously let me down but my heels are blistering every time even with plasters, strapping, heel grips etc
Just wondering what boots are recommended for wider feet ?
Try Hilly marathon fresh socks. I trail run and I can’t recommend them enough.Anyone used carrier bags between their socks and boots to keep their feet dry , mine got a bit damp 10 mins in to a 10 mile trek round bacup today ?View attachment 137834some cracking views , could see for yards when I got a bit higher up
