Seen so many clueless jokers negatively reviewing
Light Years with their daft 'reaction' type vids n slating
Preme for no real substantial reasoning, most of em can't even fuckin pee straight, let alone form a constructive critique.
Its like some are listening to it with a 2025 pair of ears n expecting it to sound exactly 1992/3/4'ish to a T! ...tho, it actually wasn't that far off, truth be told.
As far as i'm concerned,
Preme did an excellent job.
NaS nailed it.
Coppin' this on vinyl is a
must!
5 standout hot picks for me...
Only wish some of the tracks were longer in duration n that the
'Nasty Esco Nasir' (split personalities self analysis was straight genius) joint followed directly after
'NY State of Mind Pt.3' (that
Billy Joel intro, wow) on the track listings as both them beats work really well together n really do compliment each other ...so much so that i hear em as 1 track in my mind!
Bouquet: (to the Ladies) ...they really did get their high salutations n deserved flowers on this one, gotta doff the shout-outs!
Writers: A fine tribute to all those in n around tagging, graffing, bombing n writing, this one really shone the light brilliantly on this pillar of Hip Hop, so many very talented individual minds, souls n artist worldwide who have strutted their stuff for the luv of it without any financial gain whatsoever, out of pocket n from out of their own pockets in most cases unless they were boostin' :-)
Pause tapes: - So friggin relatable, we've all done it!
Also, honorary mentions to the
Sons (Young Kings) track, long over due since dropping
'Daughters' on the Life is Good joint of 2012. The back n forth on
My Story Your Story with AZ i'd rank 3rd behind the back n forth style collab of
'This is cool/Thank you' by Q-Tip n Busta and the
'Otis' track with Jay Z n Kanye.
