Hitch hikers / Hitch hiking

Hitched hiked all over the place in the 80's. Only ever had one problem.... got to J19 of the M6 at Knutsford and a bloke pulled over.... Freddie Mercury tache.... I asked how far he was going and he replied ''how far do you want to go?'' as he stroked his erection under his jeans.... I gave him a miss....

Best hitch was I went to Siouxsie & The Banshees at the Royal Albert Hall, London on a Friday night, October 83. Stayed at a friends house and in the morning I left around 6.30am and got a bus to the beginning of the M1 (up the Edgeware Road I think) and wanted to be in Manchester for 3pm - City v Grimsby (City won :)
First lift took me to Bedford and the second all the way to Manchester and I arrived around 1pm.

In the early 90's I hitched all the way around the north island of New Zealand - I was told if i had a back pack and British flag I would easily get a ride - locals wouldn't pick up people who just had a carrier bag with them indicating they were local. Got rides everywhere, twice by woman on their own which I was shocked at - maybe doesn't happen now but back then it was brilliant, did the whole of the north island

Everyone to their own pal:)

Hitched all around Europe in the late 80's, only problem I ever had was in France where it's not the done thing to pick up people like that. A nice lady in a 2cv sorted me out though. My Dad used to pick up hitch hikers whenever he saw them, even with 2 small lads in the back. I remember he once picked up 2 stunning late teen girls, I must have been around 10, he asked what they would do if they had some trouble, one winked at me then pulled out a vicious looking knife. Scared and aroused at the same time.

Hitch hiked all around NZ a few years ago, it's still a piece of piss, got lifts off single women as well, even a few times when i was with another mate.

Stayed over night in some folks houses too, one guy let me stay for 3 days while he and his wife went out to work during the day!

Great country.
