Re: Was Hitler that bad?

May invite you to germany to visit some historical places and you see why this is a stupid question anyway.

Re: Was Hitler that bad?

nashark i see in a previous post you give hitler 9 out of 10 in a badness rating

i would like to know who you think is a ten and what constituites a 10 on this scale

personally i'm struggling to think of someone worse...perhaps the one who doesn't really exist

Re: Was Hitler that bad?

"We can sell the paintings and be rich! Rich as Nazi's!" so said Mr. Burns

I find what Hitler did astounding. Brainwash a whole nation into thinking that blonde hair and blue eyes was the way forward, when he didn't even have that! It's like Sol Campbell leading the BNP!

I think some people should be thankful for him for giving us something interesting to study at History GCSE (joking before you all go on a mad one)

And to quote South Park, 'Adolf Hitler was very naughty man... Remember kids, dressing up as Hitler in school, isn't cool'

Hitler was a product of his time and the prevailing national sentiment. He came to power on the back of national anger fear, and insecurity. Much the same as the smaller scale rise of the BNP that we are seeing now with their bollocks. (no offence intended to BNP members)

That's the sort of insight I was hoping for when I started the thread. Shadygiz provided that as well. I'd like to emphasise I am not arguing for or against anything but I find it strange that there is a distinct demarcation(pleonasm of sorts) between the German people and Hitler. Was Hitler not the voice of the German people until it got out of hand?

yes thats it dick head!!! the german people loved being under a dictatorship........infact the iraqi people were hussain's voice. the north korean public the same. Cambodians just needed pot to talk for them too. Your a tit!!!

Re: Was Hitler that bad?

It all depends on how you define bad?

To those who agreed with what he was doing, believed and followed him, he was good, very good, efficient as well.

He also took what he believed in to a large scale. He saw certain races as vermin, as pests and he went about elimanting them, and was very good at it.

I am not saying he is right, but would a rabbit say a farmer was right when he was setting traps to cull the number of rabbits?

Basically he was very good at what he set out do, with remarkable progress, ultimately though he failed.

Surely the "Was Hitler that bad?" question comes down to opinion/belief in what he did, unless the question relates to how bad he was at what he DID do, where the answer would have to be "No - he was very good at what he did"...

Just a thought....

Personally I think he was a cnut of the highest order and deserves to die a terrible death over and over....

I'm willing to bet none of those dictators received over 17 million votes in fair elections though.

I don't believe you.

I believe you started this thread without thinking of it's implications and ramifications, and then when challenged you back-peddled claiming you were 'looking for insight'

This thread is pointless and it's a joke that it has been allowed to remain.

Pointless maybe wasn't the right description... In very poor taste and ill-conceived. Sums it up more eloquently.

Well if you have a quick glance at germany after the great depression (caused by the debts it was lumped with by the allies after WW1) if was going strong. Unemployment was almost non-existant, people had a car in their garage (the VW beetle - thats right hitler came up with VW), they paid a small % of the cost of the car from their weekly wage, food was plenty and for the average german life was good.

If you didn't fit into the class of perfect german then it was a whole different story. Sure you can argue hitler had good ideas such as labour camps for the unemployed (which I think every country should do - not in a cruel way), the above price plans for cars and other home items but overall it was a smoke screen.

All he ever planned for was a great germany with a empire as large if not larger than the UK. Its just a shame the way he went about it ended up killing huge amounts of people.

In the end I don't think he was any worse than say stalin.

just for the record the VW factory was kept running by the brits after the war....cant remember the name of the guy, but saw a documentary about an army major who set the production line back up and kept the beetle in production
