Holding of Haaland

That was introduced immediately after Haaland's first season after he bullied defenders that year. It was trialled in the last few games of the season, and then formalised for the following season.

A desperate and very obvious strategy to stop him scoring so many. Now everyone is doing it to everyone else. Ridiculous. As always, an "interpretation" introduced for the wrong reason gets abused and makes a mockery of the game.
Funny how these 'tough' tackling' additions seemed to be ignored when Haarland 'n Walker shouldered a couple of Rags. Funny again, that when it's fifty fifty contact with shoulders both our attacker 'n defender are the culprits.

The officials only give a penalty if the player being held could get to the ball and even then rarely, I'm surprised we didn't send more corners towards Haaland to exploit this, united's spotty forward wouldn't have known it was coming towards Haaland because he never actually faced the ball at any point.

Your last sentence explains why it should be a pen no attempt to watch or face the ball only interested in wrestling Haaland which should have been blown up for a foul..

Yes, our corners were poor in general yesterday but I thought the exact same.

Surely anywhere else on the pitch it would be blown as a foul …
It would, but it wouldn't be in the area that the RDAHMeedya call 'controversial' We had several free kicks on the halfway line!

The thing that pisses me off no end is the instruction not to flag the blatantly offside attacker the instant the ball reaches him. What is the fuckin' point? That the lino got it wrong? There's was a yard of daylight each time!

Hoylunds holding of Haaland at corners is a free kick anywhere else on the pitch. It was beyond ridiculous and he didn't even get warned after the first time. He completely prevented him from getting to the ball. The law needs to change.

When they highlighted the holding by spotty. Nev nevs spawn knew it was a pen and shut his mouth straight away. Clear pen. Later in the game slab head was blatantly pushing away at Haaland but again nothing. It’s almost like they think he’s that good that he should be able to deal with it. I do think he’s soft as shite though. Maybe needs to give it back and take a couple reds just to establish himself. Ibrahimavitch is would have picked slabhead up and chopped him.

Spotty gave away the penalty at the swamp on Rodri last season for doing similar.
Either he doesn't want to learn or he's been given the nod that he won't ever be punished again for it.

Hojlund literally hit a double leg takedown on him in the box. Fuckall. Maguire stiff arm pushed him with both arms directly in the chest as a cross came in. Fuckall. Next time it happens I hope he writhes around holding his face like an Arsenal player until the VAR does its fucking job.

Think making a little more of it is warranted- but hopefully not to the level of falling to the turf as if shot by a sniper which appears to be endorsed by our captain these days.

Completely agree with everything already mentioned here already but how did the midget manage to wrestle Haaland to the floor?
