I’m supposed to be in Turin right now and then flying to Rome tomorrow. As Italy v Wales is off then I’m not going although my flight is.

Do I have any chance of a refund? My card issuer who also do my travel insurance say no as the airline are still going ahead.

This is going to be a real issue now. I posted on here months ago as we were due to go on a family holiday to Majorca at the end of July. We'd resigned ourselves to not going but the kids hadn't. We told them back then it wasn't going to happen but now our flight with Jet2 is still currently scheduled to fly, our hotel has confirmed it will be open so if we cancel now its us that's cancelling so we'll be screwed!

We’re in exactly same position mate, we’ve 2 weeks in zante booked & paid for mid aug, which is going ahead so it’s our loss if we don’t go

Yep, and some airlines are not cancelling until a couple of days before.

Wizz are already flying, when they started it was mostly to and from eastern europe, I presume bringing in seasonal workers, but they are now flying to places where seasonal workers are less likely to come from, though we have no idea of the numbers on these flights.

We were due to go to Italy in 3 weeks, and I have cancelled the accommodation (free cancellation) and car hire (immediate refund), but Easyjet haven't cancelled the flights yet, and I think they'll at least wait till the next government announcement in early July, once they lift restrictions on foreign travel they'll expect you fly.

Still waiting for a significant refund from eDreams/Etihad for flights in April, but have also done a charge back to my credit card company for non supply of services, and I await news on that, meanwhile eDreams keep trying to get me to accept a voucher, despite having put in a request for refund on my behalf.

Bollocks. That’s £40 out of the window. BA cancelled my flight to Turin so that’s partly why I’m not in Italy now. I may have gone for the journey regardless.

No chance unless you bought it as part of a package.

See if you can change it for free online, if its Alitalia you should be able to. Move it to a later date and you may be able to move it again when this all dies down - i'd imagine you would need to keep it to the same or lower fare for the free move.

It is Alitalia actually. They’re yet to contact me about tomorrow’s flight like checking in etc.

they probably don't need to contact you as they will have told you what you need to do re: check-in when you booked? If you go on the alitalia website you should be able to change your flight to a later date.

Anyone had any dealings with AirBnb recently?

Long story short - I have 3 remaining Half payments going out the next 2 weeks for a holiday in July. Roughly £800. Airbnb have extended their cancellation policy to offer !full refunds! booked before 14th March (we booked sept 19) to 31st July. However this contradicts the individual Cancellation policies of the “hosts” which is usually 50% refund at this stage. I Don’t want to lose 50% of 100% but rather 50% of 50%. Tbh everything is dependant on the government’s travel advise on the 29th June to Croatia

Anyone dealt with AirBnb as a guest or host?

Off to Tenerife In October hopefully.
Obviously a risk and will be somewhat restricted but looking forward to it.

They wanted £50 for any change. The flight was £40. I’ve had to write it off.

I didn’t spot anything like that. I looked at changing the flight but there was no free option. It was an internal connection between Turin and Rome.

I haven’t done it, but I’m in same boat as you. I’d been led to believe their extenuating circumstances policy overrides the individual cancellation policies, and consequently you can get full refund. I read the link in their website and that’s what I took from it.

I've booked accommodation in Bulgaria with air b'n'b,Like you say would rather lose 50% of 50% than 50% of 100%.It is not known if flights be flying into Bulgaria from Manchester so unsure what to do.

Air bridges between the U.K. and Spain, Greece, France and Portugal Set to be announced from 04th July. Looks like my holiday to Greece in August will happen.

Well the powers that be have basically said that Wales is open for holiday business as of monday 13 th july. Well you clueless twats almost every holiday in the cottage rental market, which is the vast majority of Welsh holidays, goes saturday to saturday so why open up on a monday and deprive an already troubled area of more income....I've lost another weeks booking you idiots, not thought that one through have we.

Rant over.

From what I can gather also that's about right but according to a contact in the rental sector it's a bit confusing..
