Pretty much. It's a madhouse. Lots of beads and boobs on display...:)Is that like happy hour but for the whole day?

Nope. Everybody has to be over 20 stone. And topless. It's very popular. Is that like happy hour but for the whole day?
New Orleans is at it's maddest around Fat Tuesday. Not sure what it's like at Halloween. Boy is it a fun city to visit though...
Loads of tits.Or shrove Tuesday otherwise known as lent, bloody yanks and their renaming/re-branding shit :)
But that aside what's different about the day? cheaper drinks?
Loads of tits.
It's a big street carnival - yeah it's Shrove Tuesday renamed. The fun before the fast :) So loads of drink and beads and exposed nipples on show. Everyone is drunk or high it seems.... Sometimes it has escalated into violence though. If you ever got to New Orleans, stay in the French Quarter/Canal Street tourist areas. Don't wander off into areas outside of that as it's pretty rough. Like Washington DC in fact. Fantastic city to visit (my daughter has lived there for almost 9 years) but don't go wandering off the beaten path. Although it's much better now. Not sure if New Orleans is as it's been years since I was there.Or shrove Tuesday otherwise known as lent, bloody yanks and their renaming/re-branding shit :)

Sorry, rambling on a bit here. If you ever go to NO, the music and food will make you want to come back. Plus you can wander around with a drink in your hand. Guys selling jello shots in the street and busking everywhere. And some places are (or at least were) open until 4AM around the Bourbon Street area.
We’ve been in April and May and hardly saw any rain, last time once the rain started between 11 & 2pm it didn’t stop for the rest of the day. One of the Disney chaps told me there had been a long drought that broke about two weeks before we arrived. The only half decent day we had was when we went over to Clearwater, even then the storms arrived at 5pm and that was that.Yes it pisses it down every day between 2 and 4pm! The rest of the day is glorious sunshine and the odd hurricane!
Like the Rico Lewis threadLoads of tits.
I love it too, very sketchy in places but the food and so many great bars. The French Quarters are way too touristy but the architecture…. Did I mention the food and bars?New Orleans is at it's maddest around Fat Tuesday. Not sure what it's like at Halloween. Boy is it a fun city to visit though...
You can’t drink all day unless you start in the morningIs that like happy hour but for the whole day?
Don’t I know it mate, but I assumed happy hour down there involved food and not booze. You can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning
I prefer to stay in the Garden district, it’s beautiful, the warehouse district is great tooIt's a big street carnival - yeah it's Shrove Tuesday renamed. Oyster sliders are where it’s atYou can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning
And a district called Manchester too!Pittsburgh is simply fantastic. People who've never been think it's the US equivalent of somewhere like Middlesbrough but there's no steel mills anymore so no permanent smoke or smog and there's a great food and drink scene and plenty to do.
Will do mate thanks. Not sure how long that will last though given they have lost their self governing right and FL laws allow for concealed weapons.
Have a great holiday mate, we absolutely love it there.
I have heard about the warehouse district all right. It's supposed to be really cool; I see some nice boutique hotels have opened there too. That wasn't there when I was there. It was pretty much French Quarter/Canal St area or outside that when I was there. Which tells me that it has been way too long and a return visit is on the cards...;) I will have to see the Garden district too.I prefer to stay in the Garden district, it’s beautiful, the warehouse district is great too
Reminds me to discourage anyone from visiting Manchester, NH.And a district called Manchester too!
We found the best Italian restaurant off of St Charles that I have ever experienced. It was lunch time, middle of the week, hardly any frontage but packed to bursting. I can’t find words to do it justice but unlike anything I’d ever experienced.I have heard about the warehouse district all right.
