Holidays

TUI have a decent offer on at the moment where you can get £100, 200 or £300 off depending on the total holiday price as well as free child places.
I'm booking my 2026 holiday today.
Going for faliraki, which does seem strange with 2 kids in tow but the hotel looks good and as we will be all inclsuive, we aren't going to be around the pissed up teenagers.

Flying to Munich at the end of February for a day and night and then getting the train to Salzburg for two nights. Never been to either place before so looking forward to it.

Off to Munich in July. Was watching videos for Salzburg a few weeks ago and it does look very nice. Enjoy.

Just booked 3 nights in Stirling end of feb with the missus for my 50th, was always our intention to be a walking holiday but injury to her means the walks will be shorter.
So with more time on our hands any recommendations for things to look out for locally ?

Your in for a treat. It really is a beautiful little township with lots to see and do. The Sound Of Music tour is a must, as is a trip up the Untersburg mountain by cable car that is easily reached by the local bus service. I wouldnt do it again as it was way too stressful but the views at the top are beyond breathtaking.

Mozart's birthplace in the old town was worth a peep with some quaint streets and lots and lots of barrochy architecture, as was the Mirabella gardens were Mozart used to attend concerts as a kid. The Mirabelle gardens featured in the sound of music too.

Here's a run down of the Sound Of Music tour places. We even got to sing along on the coach with all the other oddities.

At the end of a busy day, a nice scoop of the amber nectar, overlooking the babbling Salzash river, with memories worthy of carving deep into the hippocampus. Picture postcard pretty .. all of it.

Untersburg Mountain with Saltsburg airport way into the distance.

The cable car going up. You can actually walk it back down and I did consider this after getting a bollocking off a German dressed in lederhosen and daft hat. I was trying to be first in the queue to get back down so I pulled on the giant shutter doors and they wouldn't, open so I pulled some more and the alarm went of. Proper got on one he did but as I'm a bit bi-lingual, I managed to make out meinne gotte meinne gotte sturzgefahr. Anyway I got the wrong exit door and this shutter door was for the cable car maintenance crew. (think where Eagles Dare) No mither.

Lovely pics but not sure I'd want to be singing songs from The Sound of Music!
