So that's the last of our UK tour of the British Isles 2022 finished, having just arrived back from Cornwall. A fabulous county with lots and lots to offer the errant traveller. Places of note were Falmouth, Penzance, Newquay, and last but not least the jewel of our English Med .. St Ives Bay.
I don't think we would fancy St Ives in peak season due to parking and crowds, however the weather in October remained magical and the ambience good to go. It's beyond the pretty and if youve never been before then it's well worth the trek down south.
Falmouth hasn't changed much since my visit in 75 with R.N but couldnt for the life of me remember were our guest house was. All I could recall was it had yellow windows, a garden fronted sit out area and copious amounts of flower tubs. Gave up looking after the mrs got irittatable, so instead went for cornish tea with real scones and clotted cream. Couple of Oggies were also swallowed with gusto, far more appealing than any Gregg offing up north.
The caravan digs were good to go with lashings of hot running water, a comfy bed and nice sit out area. Location also sweet and near to the dunes for access to the beach. You were nobody unless you had a wetsuit and board under your arm, but still we managed to merge it along with the surf faithfull.
Night entertainment was ripping with plenty of live music .. and back at camp their Harry Style nightly signature dance will forever be forged to our feet. Top track
is Late Night Talking and an easy shuffle strut for the elderly.
