Holidays

Thinking of booking a week in Lake Garda...May time for the Mrs and I...as a Xmas present.

Any recommendations/advice....is that a decent time of year to go?
Been a few times, last time this year in august.
May can be cloudy as is alot of northern Italy that time of year.
Been to most places around the lake with my favourite being desenzano del garda, and it has a train station, so 2 hrs to venice, 1hr to milan, just over half hour to verona and 15mins to brescia.all worth visiting if you've never been.only problem with this area is the limited ferry service around the lake if you have no car.for that reason malcesine or bardalino would be better options as tgey sre central, and both nice resorts.if you want any info on anything pm me and I'd be happy to help.great place and you'll have a great time.

We had our honeymoon in Lake Garda. May into June 2016. A gorgeous place with plenty to do and see. Food fantastic too but that'll be of no surprise as its Italy.

We stayed in Malcesine which is in the North of the lake. Views we stunning and when we got the weather it was just a really gorgeous place to relax. However, the weather was really hit and miss. It could be raining in the North but then further south could be clear blue skies. We had a few days on the south of the lake (Bardolino) when the weather wasn't great in Malcesine.

We also took in Verona and Venice whilst there.

Lovely place that we plan to go back to a few more times before we're pushing up daisies.

Thats great cheers....a friend had been and suggested hiring a car....and drive to venice and milan etc

The possible weather could be an issue...the Mrs likes the sun!

From January Venice is going to charge visitors who are not staying for at least two nights up to €10 each to get in.

After 2 years of delays, we are finaly in Lapland. Huskie and Raindeer rides this morning, and a shaman hut. Then went for a secluded snow walk this afternoon and currently chilling in our log cabin before an early dinner, then snowmobiling tonight in the hope of seeing the northern lights.
