Always wanted to go and wife does it’s in the bucket listGates were installed at the two entry points to the lagoon during peak periods this year in an attempt to ease the throng heading towards St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge. If numbers get too high, the gates are closed and access is allowed only to those with hotel bookings or holding a Venezia Unica pass, a card that is mainly used by residents but can be bought for €40 by anyone who uses a water bus.
Not been?
If it stops the twats on cruise liners I’m all for it.
Go and stay in Venice and you don’t pay it because you are already paying the tourist tax.
We have gone once a year since 2010, apart from covid lockdown.Always wanted to go and wife does it’s in the bucket list
Got to fly home from here to Alicante first, quick visit to house then Alicante to London then from there.
Doing Ljubljana next May for 4 nights. Got a hire car so doing Lake Bled and really looking forward to it. Only ballache is flying from Heathrow. You'll have to let me know how Slovenia is.Last few days at work before flying to Ljubljana next Thursday for 2 nights at Lake Bled, and then from there heading to Bali for 15 nights to include Xmas day and New Year.
Flights were half the price to start in Slovenia than from the UK, so a great opportunity to see Bled which has been on the travel list for many years (plus a night in central Ljubljana on the return)
