Holidays

Right you filthy animals I need some advice, we are looking at a Greek holiday next year and I’ve seen Stoupa mentioned on here and it looks like our kind of place and I also like the look of Lindos

If any of you have been to the two places any feedback would be most welcomed or any other nice Greek resorts you might think are better bearing in mind direct flights are a must as we can really be arsed with the whole trains, planes and automobiles bollocks as we are nearing FoC status.

Looking at 10-14 nights

parga on the mainland

A nice beach and a somewhere a bit chilled out, not overly fussed on doing lots of trips/excursions, and a reasonable amount of tavernas, and restaurants
You need to go where we holiday.
Anaxos Lesbos
Have a look at JET2 holidays

We holidayed in Stoupa around 20 years ago
Not sure if it's still the same, but the airport transfer was over three hours

Second Lesvos. 3 small resorts, Anaxos, Petra and Molyvos all close together and quite different. Manchester and Birmingham flights but not as many as the other places probably. Cheaper than Parga, Lindos or Stoupa, unspoilt Greece and better food than most islands. It’s a big island and good to explore, the more remote you go the cheaper the food gets!! Looking at Samos for next year which is meant to be similar.

Here’s so far mooners Anaxos looks a bit of what we like
Have a look at Elounda on Crete. Went there last year. Little bit commercial for us but lots to do and a nice larger, stunning town just a bus or taxi ride away. (Agios Nikiolaos). We went to explore the less touristy East of the island and had a brilliant time.

I know Elounda and have done Ag Nik in the past, I loved the the little lake in Ag Nik but the rest left me a bit meh, first time I was there I thought Palace were going to do the rags in the FA Cup final

We've visited Crete quite often.
Stalis a few times and Chania area.
Going to ag nic next year for the 1st time.

Done Skala and it is nice but found the beach a bit of a let down
Ye. Not that much of a beach person
If you have a car there’s plenty within 10mins
Love Skala the place has a great buzz and atmosphere in the Main Street at night
Fantastic people
Back in July for the 8th time
Only discovered it in 2020

Went to Limenaria on Thassos almost 40 years ago now....where does time go?

Always said we'd go back someday as we had a great time, it was bus/ferry then too.
That water bridge at Kavala was great sight as were the rocks at Limenaria at sunset.

Looks a bit more built up now mind you.

Skala Errossos on Lesvos is lovely. Chilled laid back and fantastic beach and restaurants along it. (Also a big lesbian destination)

Paxos is a lovely small island, Loggos is a great resort.

Lindos is beautiful, narrow winding streets, superb restaurants and bars, but does get very busy during the day with day trippers. Quieter at night (unless like we have four times, you go in the Rock Week in June) Two beaches, the huge main beach and smaller St Paul's Bay on other side of the village.

Symi is another favourite island, again busy town during the day as Lindos, but quiet at night. Easy to escape during the day a water taxis go to several beaches around the island, all with a taverna or two for lunch.

Returned to Kefalonia recently and found it massively over developed around Lassi area.

Trying Skopelos next year. Heard very good things about it, and looks our kinda place.

Here’s some help back.
We were in Stegna, Rhodes back in August. Very peaceful, lovely beach and not a tourist trap.
We only did two excursions by private car.
Once to Lindos and also Rhodes old town.
Some really nice restaurants too.
