If we sold Lescott & Barry, we need another English players. So I want to LB Baines or Shaw, and CM Barkley.

Baines to a United and if Chelsea are also in for Shaw he'd pick them over us.
They can have Baines but what makes you think Shaw would pick Chelsea over us?

Because, Shaw is Chelsea fan.

Professional football players wouldn't let that influence them unless absolutely everything else was equal.

IMO an 18 year old would let that influence his choice

Pellegrini Eyes Best of British

Manuel Pellegrini has ordered City’s scouts to bring him the best of British following a recent transfer summit in Abu Dhabi.

The City chief has been given the full backing of Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak to ramp-up the process of competing for the best home-based players.

Plenty of blues could argue there is not a vast pool to choose from but Pellegrini already has his eye on filling the homegrown quota with superior quality ahead of next summer.

Director of Footballer Txiki Begiristain is currently working on two such assignments and sources have stated the wheeler-dealer hopes to have at least one of them “boxed-off” before the end of February.

It’s understood any such acquisitions must be ready to compete for a first-team place straight away, with the important caveat of THEY MUST HAVE the required level of technical capability.

Names that do spring to mind must surely include Everton’s exciting youngster Ross Barkley and Southampton’s left-back Luke Shaw?

The England team is hardly flowing with stand-out candidates and we don’t see Arsenal parting any time soon with Jack Wilshere or Welsh wonder Aaron Ramsey.

What is perhaps a more decent indicator is what question marks this leaves over Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott and James Milner?

As we revealed earlier this week, Scott Sinclair will be out the door, regardless of West Bromwich Albion’s cooling on a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Rodwell is on a long-term contract.

Lescott’s deal is up this summer and both Meeks and Jimmy will be going into their final year in June.

Interesting.

right now we are not a good club for young enlgish players. Players like Barkley and shaw need regular football, not to sit on the bench. If they came to us thats what would happen

The best thing for england and the players themselves is to stay at the clubs they are at. I think it maybe barkley they are on about though.
trippier ???
