Homeschooling during lockdown

Thanks, I’ve messaged you. Really appreciated.
No worries bud hope the things I emailed help. Biggest job you’ll ever have is being a dad. Everything else is secondary, including teaching although there’s a great deal of “cross-fertilisation” admittedly. Don’t stress, they’ll catch up.

My 9 year old was doing "fronted adverbials" today amongst lots of other unnecessarily advanced bumf.

The level they are expected to work to nowadays is definitely higher than what we were doing at that age in the 80s.
It’s ridiculous I’m doing French with an 8 year old I didn’t do that until I was 12, good job I remember a bit. We are quite lucky in that I’m off during the day a bit so can give her my full attention whilst the wife works from home, I really feel for those that don’t have that luxury, plus mine seems quite to like learning I kniw some kids can be a nightmare

I started teaching my Niece some Polish when she was 5, it’s amazing how quickly young children pick up other languages.

I think I’d rather she was able to read, write in English first mate, I’m all for learning other things but let’s get the basics right before then.

Well it looks like the 2nd week of March at the earliest that they go back. Probably around another 3 to 4 weeks of learning if you discount half term. More than doable. Headstrong fellow teachers. We're doing a great job all things considered.
