Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Yes could have been a different season. I remember the call going out for any of the old mob if they wanted it to join up but the police had it pretty much stitched up.
I think it was .. the 87 home game was a night game possibly.

I met a Millwall fan a few years after mate,
On holiday in lanza he honestly said city went down there and took liberties he couldn’t believe what we took hence the turn out at our place when they had every fooker from the Home Counties with them.

It was all Millwall kicking off the previous match as Bradbury scored in the final minute and they couldn't take it. There has also been a scuffle on the pitch and a double sending off. The Millwall fans had several pitch invasions and the city players were attacked at the end.

It was a Tuesday night midweek and mainly diehard city fans, not the slap and run types. Maybe it was Guy Richie you met, as no City fans were looking for trouble or "taking liberties", or the fan never went but wanted to pretend he did and also live up to a mockney stereotype.

The fact is we were the biggest target and they got excited.

I was at that game as well. I had got off the ship in Dover and then got the train from Euston. I was sweating on making the match as some poor old boy died in my carriage and we had to wait at Milton Keynes until the coroner came on and they got him off.

If that was 87, me and my mate joined the escort. Dogs and horses knocking around but still felt dodgy as fuck. There was trouble at the turnstiles and then you had to walk behind their stand to get to the away bit. Load of lads out that day. We only had about 800 there I reckon and it was all lads. Adcock winner. Kicked off at London Bridge after the game.
Don't know if it was the amount of lads or Adcock's lob finish at the opposite end but what a slow response to a goal
Couldn't use the away end turnstiles because 'travelers ' had blocked it
It became common knowledge that a outnumbered City did Millwall at London bridge.
And remember that the few hundred Millwall who came to Maine road 3 months earlier on a Wednesday night got a kicking in, no wonder they hate /rate us

Yes it relegated them I think.
Yeah.lots of modern footy fans dont remember spurs went down...
On the tube after we d lost at The new WHL the other year ,i was in a bad mood, surrounded by spurs...i asked one of their gobby lot, remember when you were in the 2nd Div? No ,i,m too young to remember that mate.....
So i approached the issue from a different angle...."but you know John Perryman, you record appearence holder?"
Yeah ..course i know John Perryman, came the cocky spurs reply..
I said " Well he was your captain when you went down mate "
Even spurs fans were laughing at him.
