Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Friday and Saturday hours were until 11pm .
Sunday was 12pm until 3pm and then 7pm until 10.30pm.
When they started opening all day, wasn’t Sunday just extended from 2-00 to 3-00 close at first? Then reopen at 7 ?

Remember the Pet Shop boys song at the time ‘ALL DAY ALL DAY’
Remember booking that Monday off work !!!

Pretty sure Sunday went from 2pm to 3pm closing. Back then most pubs were busy Sunday dinnertime as many had football teams who would head in for a pint after their match. Would often see people waiting outside pubs later on for the 7pm reopening.

Trying to remember the old hours.

Monday to Saturday
11 30am-3pm
5.30pm-10.30pm

Sunday
12pm-3pm
7pm-10pm?

Maybe a 'late' night of 11pm for Saturday. The 5.30 evening opening was the reason we used to walk back to town for a drink post match (when they were Saturday at 3 for league games).
You took these opening hours as standard.
Looking back it was ridiculous.
Remember trying to watch FA Cup finals in a pub (on BBC or ITV), but had to get a lock-in.
The boozers must have lost millions...
