What’s the science park story? Always hear references to it but never heard it properly

I wasn't there mate , and maybe someone who was can help out ..... but the way i heard it was that United were being escorted back to town , when they encountered a sizeable City mob near the Science Park/Old Abbey pub .... some of the rags broke free of the escort to face City, but the majority were held back by police .... and the ones that broke free then found themselves short of numbers and got a right pasting from the City fans.

Like i said though it's only what i've heard .....


There was also another battle , or 'arranged meet', outside the Kings Head pub on Chancellor Lane in Ardwick after a derby at the Etihad about 2006, or thereabouts ... and i don't think the pub ever really recovered from it , and was closed down.
