Hope De jong deal is signed and sealed soon!

Been following him for a while, and I rate him. Would love to see him at our club.

If he's so good why are Hamburg letting him go?

Come on mate that's an incredibly simplistic way of looking ag things

I know, it's a serious question though I wasn't being sarcastic - I don't know anything about this guy other than a youtube video, and not heard why Hamburg are selling -

is it because they need the money, he wants to leave (like bellamy), they've signed someone else, he's fallen out with the manager, he doesn't make their first team etc?

I'm just interested in the reasons, not having a dig.

lets put it this way

if we were skint again, like in the pearce era. If someone like Ajax came in with a bid for kompany like £16m, when he wants to move, and can move in the summer for £2m (clause in his contract), would you sell him?

Fair enough, I've seen very little of him myself

24 years old and 30 caps for Holland though, must be half decent?

is a good solid no nonsense midfielder, ball winner hard as nails but not dirty , wins ball plays it simple to players with better flair and skill but if no options on can drive forward with ball himself, good shot as well
in the Essien, Diarra mould but can drop into centre half if required basicaly a vinny mark

My guess as to why they are willing to sell him is because they get in the region of £15m for him now from us, or they lose him in the Summer for in the region of £2m due to a clause in his contract. It's simple maths, he'll be gone in the summer regardless so best to cash in now.

Finally, someone who can head the ball:

To move to a bigger club?
They need the money?
He could've left for 2m in the summer?

Record transfers in german football:

1. Hargreaves (Bayern to xxxx) 25 Mio Euro
2. Emerson (Leverkusen to AS Rom) 20 Mio
3. Berbatov (Leverkusen to Tottenham) 16 Mio
4. Hleb (VFB to Arsenal) 15 Mio
5. Van der Vaart (HSV to Real) 14 Mio
6. Boulahrouz (HSV to Chelsea) 13,2 Mio
7. Heinrich (BVB to Fiorentina) 12,5 Mio
8. Jansen (Gladbach to Bayern)
Klose (Werder to Bayern)
Lucio (Leverkusen to Bayern) each 12 Mio
11. Van Buyten (HSV to Bayern) 10 Mio

you see three things:
HSV always goes for the money than for the player. Of course you pay too much. And it´s a lot of money from the perspective of a german club
