Beat united in the SF of the league cup and enjoy another day and trophy at wembley.
Potentially win the FA Cup
Beat the scousers when they come to our place
Beat the darlings of UEFA and have a good run in the CL
Finsh 2nd in the PL

We do that and its still an unbelievable season.
If we achieve half of that, this season will be a great achievement.

As things stand I would think the club will be happy with automatic Champs League qualification.

Haha. I'm just sick of all the Monday-morning quarter-backing.

It's as if the last two years just happened by chance, with no planning whatsoever.

Mendy has had two bad knee injuries, Laporte has missed half a season, Stones has lost focus.

Silva and Fern have ripened quicker than anticipated, but absolutely earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt.

We also can't legislate for some of the officiating or brain farts that happen to all players.

We have dominated for so long, people can't accept that even a five per cent drop in standards means a regression.

It makes our achievements of the last two seasons all the more incredible.

We are having to accept our medicine at present but we can count ourselves very lucky that unlike the majority of other clubs, we have an owner and a manager who can administer a cure and will NEVER settle for second best.

This season can still be incredible and some of our fanbase have been all too quick to write off Pep and this group of players.
I agree but, Mendy has always had knee and muscle issues and was a risky signing. John Stones, no one is doubting his natural ability, but , again his whole career he has had issues with mentality, will he ever change?
David Silva the signs of age were there last season, and Peps reluctance not to give Foden more minutes this season is a surprise.

CB, whoever at the club thought our options at CB at the start of this season were good enough for a club of our stature needs to do some serious explaining. The loss of Vincent Kompany was a major blow, but to go into the season with only one high class CB (Laporte) to me was suicide.

Amidst all the doom and gloom, there is still a hell of a lot to play for which we are very capable of achieving.

The media were/are desperate for Pep to go and have been from day one - it started off that his brand of football would never succeed in the prem -he has proven the whole lot of them wrong and shown them up to be the no mark, know fuck all that they all are to a man/woman. Therefore they are now desperate to get him out no matter what and believe you me his achievements will be white washed esp with Klopp and the media darlings scouse scum probably winning the prem league this year. And thats the crux of it....they know that Pep at city threatens the establishment of the old top 4 even more..city have been a threat to this since the take over and they did everything to deride us on the way to the first title win....now with Pep there is even more of a threat...we have shown this the last two seasons and the media with all the old guard represented in them heavily (esp ex rags and scousers) want to avoid this at all costs....so they spread shit to cause frustration..

The best thing fans can do is sing his name from the rafters regardless of results in either the the league or champs league (which is the big stick they will use to beat Pep with).

This is exactly what most of the City hating media and pundits want to achieve and especially more-so since one of the old guard in liverpool are challenging again.

They are consistently belittling our fan base by putting ex-united and ex-liverpool players on all our games, and in football in general as they see this as the rise of the old established order

We just need to counter this with the facts - nothing more, nothing less.

We are the most dominant team of the last decade and have won countless domestic trophies....the one that has eluded us still is the CL. And regardless whether you hate it or not, as a club we do have to win it

The press/media/pundits always fall back to this old adage of no team can dominate for more than x years - they dont want it to happen

Thats the truth. Because if we start to look at what we have achieved since Mansour took over then it is a probability that Manchester City could one day become the most succesfull domestic club in English football in the future - that is something the old clubs who feel it is their divine right to stay on their perches and lauded by all are afraid of

I will be honest, all the negative shite thrown our way has effected myself this season.....but you know what, I started to think hold on, our club is in fantastic shape with the best manager of his generation at the helm. We have broken multiple records and achieved huge success defying what most said we would never achieve

We have much to celebrate and you know what we should. This season is a blip. We will come back stronger next season

Dont let these fuckers win, by them constantly trying to put a damper on things

Celebrate what we have achieved and sit well that we are here to stay forever

Ok I’m going to try to be positive & forward thinking.

what would you like to see happen now ?

In my opinion -

league is over so that pressure has gone.
I’m not convinced we can beat Utd with their style in cup. :-(
No way this team can win champs league
FA cup possibly.

I would rather see some plan taking shape for next season. Let’s secure top 3 & build for next season with 1 or 2 new players in January or kids brought in inc foden.

The biggest issue is Pep staying or going. If he’s going I’d rather the club let it happen now let’s not wait for the summer. With his body language & Arteta gone I don’t think it looks good. I’d be gutted if pep goes.

we need to see something happen now be it kids or signings in January this team is too old & slow that’s the biggest issue not injuries.

thoughts ?
My #1 hope is that Pep stays with us.
Next... there's no chance that we can win the P/L. We need to finish top 4 (preferably top 3) in the P/L.
Finally - there's no chance that we can win the C/L other than by pure luck. We should put our best teams forward in all C/L competitions - but for me, a top 3/4 finish in the P/L should be the priority at this point.

Top 4 finish and winning one cup and I'm happy.

Everyone will likely be painting it as a failure (maybe even rightly so) but I would just be glad that our 'failing' season would be better than some of our rivals manage in their success seasons.

I've made the same point on previous threads, but it's amazing how many people forget that since 2012 City are the only Premier League Champions to have qualified for the Champions League the following season

Disappointing?
Yes
Disastrous?
Not as bad as Utd in 13-14 or Chelsea under Mourinho and Conte.
Even Leicester tarnished their achievement by sacking Ranieri
