Hopes for the rest of the season

Where's all the talk coming that pep leaving after this season? He said 100times he finishes his contract and then he will see , or did I miss something

The media have kept pushing the issue (for some reason). And they've done it enough that now people have started to believe it.

Ferran even gave an interview just recently making it very clear that Pep was at the very least staying until the end of his contract. He even pointed out how dumb the question is given how often Pep has said he's staying. I think people like to believe he might be off as it would be a convenient excuse for us not being as strong this season.

As for the topic himself, Ferran also said we have to take every game as it comes so we don't lose intensity. I think that is a decent place to start.

Haha. I'm just sick of all the Monday-morning quarter-backing.

It's as if the last two years just happened by chance, with no planning whatsoever.

Mendy has had two bad knee injuries, Laporte has missed half a season, Stones has lost focus.

Silva and Fern have ripened quicker than anticipated, but absolutely earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt.

We also can't legislate for some of the officiating or brain farts that happen to all players.

We have dominated for so long, people can't accept that even a five per cent drop in standards means a regression.

It makes our achievements of the last two seasons all the more incredible.

We are having to accept our medicine at present but we can count ourselves very lucky that unlike the majority of other clubs, we have an owner and a manager who can administer a cure and will NEVER settle for second best.

This season can still be incredible and some of our fanbase have been all too quick to write off Pep and this group of players.

And whatever happens this season we will sort it out in the summer and come back stronger than ever next season. People need to have faith in the people running City. Weaknesses will be identified and addressed.

The media were/are desperate for Pep to go and have been from day one - it started off that his brand of football would never succeed in the prem -he has proven the whole lot of them wrong and shown them up to be the no mark, know fuck all that they all are to a man/woman. Therefore they are now desperate to get him out no matter what and believe you me his achievements will be white washed esp with Klopp and the media darlings scouse scum probably winning the prem league this year. And thats the crux of it....they know that Pep at city threatens the establishment of the old top 4 even more..city have been a threat to this since the take over and they did everything to deride us on the way to the first title win....now with Pep there is even more of a threat...we have shown this the last two seasons and the media with all the old guard represented in them heavily (esp ex rags and scousers) want to avoid this at all costs....so they spread shit to cause frustration..

The best thing fans can do is sing his name from the rafters regardless of results in either the the league or champs league (which is the big stick they will use to beat Pep with).

Ok I’m going to try to be positive & forward thinking.

league is over so that pressure has gone.
I’m not convinced we can beat Utd with their style in cup. :-(
No way this team can win champs league
FA cup possibly.

Can't see the scousers keeping up this pace and can see them dropping 12+ points, but accept we're not likely to go unbeaten from now 'till May..
LC, Over 2 legs I can't see us losing the tie, and we'll do Leicester in the final. But after losing the derby I'd just be happy with putting them out of the final.
CL, tricky tie but if we get past Madrid who knows. Funny how we keep drawing these top teams every season, but we've generally been lucky (in terms of who we've drawn) in the domestics recently.
FAC hard to say, depends on the draws.

I would just be happy with a strong finish and regroup for next season. I just get fed up hearing all the crap about the defence. We know it's not "world class" at the moment but there's only 2 teams below us let in less goals. The media don't bang on about Chelsea, Spurs or Wolves' defence every week and they've all let in more than we have. We're still in 3 cups.

who is our left back for the EDS - surely its worth giving him somegame timeat some point with all our options being absolue gash? Anyone watch the EDS regualrly to know whether here is anyone capable?
I suspect he'd be very like Angelino, just two years behind...

You make an interesting observation here - we brought in Cancelo, an attacking FB, but I haven’t seen anything from him to justify that decision. So many clubs tells you something....and Danilo was much more versatile.
Ok Laporte and Sane....injuries happen but Stones has gone missing before, look back at his Everton days. Mendy has done well to get back from his injuries, but he is a wing back not a defender. For me, he had a really good game vs Leicester, last night the opposite.
Pep is stubborn, we all know that, and he will not move Fern back into midfield where he should be.
Bravo looked as though he didn’t want to be out there, no confidence and that feeds through the team.
Finally, Jesus was a miss last night as it forced Aguero into the line up....but Sterling & Mahrez did nothing to take the pressure off the defence constantly giving the ball away....and so it goes on.....
Fernandinho and midfield is over, a wonderful, wonderful player but father time has caught up with his legs. Same applies to David Silva, the warning signs were there last season.

Rodri is an outstanding player and will get better and better which for us is an amazing feeling.

Cancelo as a signing I don't understand, and from the very limited time on the pitch, Juventus have pulled down our pants. For a player with so much potential, he has changed clubs far too often and far too quickly.
