House Of The Dragon (GOT Prequel)

Very good storytelling. After a slightly slow start I thought it developed the characters really well. Some excellent acting too, particularly from Paddy Consadine and Matt Smith.

If I have a gripe it was instead of gratuitous sex scenes there were two gratuitous, graphic and shocking birth scenes that added very little to the story.

Really looking forward to the next series.

It's not up to GOT standards and or it's cast, but still an awsome watch nevertheless.

John Snow, aria stark, brienne of tarth (she could man handle me anyday) sam tardy (a joy to watch), romsey i've lost the plot bolton, the manipulative caniving bailiess ( although lord strong the clubffot is equally as caniving, the drop dead gorgous ygritte the brunette and many many more far too numerous to mention.Even sean bean played a peaky blinder, even if he was as wooden as fook in sharpes rifle. (great watch though alongside the indelibale sgt harper)

Again it's realy really good to go, but nothing will surpass the original GOT. Very much looking forward to the next series. Massive fan of this genre.

That was how childbirth was then , bloody and life or death , it absolutely has a part to play in the series

No argument there Kaz. I think the fact that it was twice in graphic detail I thought was a little OTT and unnecessary. Having been at the birth of my three it’s not like I’m particularly squeamish either.

Maybe the writers thought it was in keeping with the whole violence thing if you see what i mean

Both were Important to the story telling and the themes, of how she will be undermined and usurped by those men who see the princesses as there to provide heirs and not rule.

Before the time skips she tells allicent you have the babies I will fight battles like a knight, her first birth it the first scene of the time skip and shows how this youthful desire has been replaced by her duty as a future queen, the brutality and blood she spills while taking her baby to be presented reminicent of a wounded knight wandering the battlefield while bleeding.

The second is after she has been usurped by her half brother and as she struggles with birth the men are more worried about the throne, as is she when immediately goes to the map room.

All of it is a necessary part of the story telling in my opinion
