House Of The Dragon (GOT Prequel)

Good start. Excited for the rest of this.

It will be a bit more like Game of Thrones from now on. As the war begins, the story slows down and also expands. We'll be going to the Riverlands, Winterfell, Harrenhal, and a few other places from the original series, but we'll only see about a year pass by over the next 10 episodes as opposed to 30 years.

As good a series as i could have hoped.

Brilliantly sets up the next season and the carnage to come.
I agree, as a big GoT fan i was really looking forward to it and i wasn't disappointed.
After the getting to know period in the first half of the season, it really turned into very good, must see, TV with some brilliant episodes and a great suspenseful ending.

Bring on The Dance of the Dragons!

Saturday we went down , left at 7am, was in stanmore (NW LONDON ish) for 10.30am, which included a short break.
Parked up someones drive on the justdrive app (£15), 2 min walk to stanmore tube and popped up at westminster 30 mins later. No hassle, no dramas. Would deffo do that way again if the train cant take the strain.

We had tickets for a harry potter show, it started at 2pm and finished at 9 (breaks inbetween) and after 10 mins my 7 year old made it clear he wasnt interested , and neither was i in fairness, so i took him away. We had awful restricted view seats.

Left wife n daughter there and we went off for a mooch. Round soho, carnaby street, piccadilly, met with wife/daughter for tea and went back mooching. We loved it. Pints here n there, nosey round the shops. It was great.

Sunday we did the boat trip out to greenwich , never been that way before, loved it and will return. Did the maritime museum, bus to O2 and the cablecar across the thames. Then after more mooching got on the jubilee line all the way back to stanmore and in the car and home.

I fuckin love our yearly london visits. So so much to do and i dont think we will ever cover it all

Was going to ask if the 'universe' expanded out in the ensuing seasons.

Was looking forward to seeing 'Baby White Walkers'....

Shame it's ended - looked forward to this every Monday and would've been perfect Winter TV watching...

No White Walkers in this particular story, I'm afraid, unless they make big changes to the source material. I think Winterfell is just about the furthest north we'll go during the Targaryen civil war. There's a very small chance that we might go eastward again towards Essos before the end of the show but if we see the Wall at all I'll be surprised.

There's a small moment from a little further back in Targaryen history that they could use though: Alysanne Targaryen (sister to Jaehaerys, the really old king at the very, very start of House of the Dragon) tried to fly her dragon Silverwing over the Wall only for it to refuse and turn back.

They might give that moment to another character in the future of House of the Dragon to tie in this 'A Song of Ice and Fire' prophecy that they keep bringing up - which is a show invention. Other than that, I'd not hold out any hopes for baby White Walkers!

I enjoyed the final episode & I’m happy to see Game of Thrones back into it’s stride with this prequel. Shame we have to wait 2 years for season 2 (Apparently?). Might have to read the book.

I thought it started well, went shit for quite a long time, then the last episode was great.

Looking forward to it branching out into the world a bit more in the next series, hoping they can get in a couple of characters that can give it a bit more life.
