Houssem Aouar

When we do mathematics we have only 19 players in place of 10 outfield positions. We always have 20 players specially when we do not have youngsters coming through. If they are coming also we have 2 players in each positions. We have only 11 players in place of 6 MF and Strikers positions. So a MF is needed.
Also we are planning for a Cf remember. We are voracious we always need more. Plus we need to replace Ferna next year for which we are planning from this year and may be we are looking to replace aguero as well so we are looking for a striker.
Unless someone goes no place for anyone.I dont know how many foreign players we can accomodate but if we sign someone we need to ship someone. And for sigining a CM,i would be more happy if Bernardo gets fixed place. No point in signing someone when Gundogan and Fernandinho stay and Bernardo and Foden dont even have fixed position to play.If Kevin and Rodri are sure shot starters, the we are looking at Bernardo Gundogan Fernandinho Foden proabably and a new CM to fight for other spot.Either way lets see, giving minutes and keeping happyis manager's job but if Bernardo though hadd bad season remains a top talent with elite mentality so we cant lose him to accomodate a new shiny toy

I cannot understand why a thread on the Aouar transfer has become an obsession about minutes for Foden and Bernardo. We play about 70 games a season. If we assume that Rodri or Gundogan fill the CDM position, then we have two more central midfield positions to fill, made up from Bernardo, Aouar KDB or Phil. The wing and forward positions then feature Gabby, Sergio, Torres, Mahrez or Raz. That is 35 games for each player without any injuries, suspensions or loss of form. I cannot see Fern playing in midfield anymore.

Foden is still a young kid, however good he is, he still needs to be looked after.

He could be in our team for the next 10 years plus, don't burn the kid out.

We need at least one more body in that midfield, at least one!

Okay since you have a problem understanding obvious concerns i will help you and those that liked you post. first of City played the maximum EPL and LC games this season we were a maximum 2 short in the FA cup and 4 in the CL but played a extra game in the CS, we played 58 games no where near the 70 games. you exaggerated.
De Bruyne 2900 minutes
David Silva 1833 minutes
Rodrigo 2488 minutes
Bernardo Silva 2031 minutes
Foden 893 minutes
Gundogan 2017 minutes
Doyle 16 minutes
Sane 1 minute
Fernandinho`s 2399 minutes are irrelevant since he played virtually all as a CD and is unlikely to start in midfield again
Sane is in there because a huge amount of minutes played by Bernardo and Foden was them covering him, we now have Torres, so those minutes are no longer available, as an estimate David Silva`s 1833 minutes, being in the top 3 midfielders at the club Foden has the right to expect more than the paltry 893 minutes he got last season.
If we sign the latest bauble he improves City`s squad only slightly, and that is only if he replaces Gundogan, as we have no minutes available, he also does not improve our failings being the smallest slowest side in the EPL, and we have not even talked price to get him yet from an owner just as bad as at Napoli

We have lost a midfield player, KDB has had fitness issues in more than one season, as has Gundogan, Fern another year older, Bernardo uncertain what we will get & then there is Foden.

Just starting his PL career as a regular. Almost all young players have periods of fatigue or shit form, sometimes half a season worth.

Foden is also about to be thrown to the rag/scouse sucking tabloid wolves, when he starts his full England career.

If he kills it, then it will help him. If he doesn't, they will try to undermine him at every opportunity. This while he might have to be a main player for City, going for 4 trophies, because we have decided not to take Gundogan's minutes off him.

Doesn't make sense to me, but neither does Garcia, no def mid, no left back, so it's nothing new ;)

Brilliant explanation, glad someone else sees it.

Just the get the feeling we would go all in for this one especially since Arteta and Arsenal are involved, we need to make some sort of statement after how they sneaked Arteta away from us.
