Houssem Aouar

Big, strong midfielder with pace?
Fuck that!
Too tall, too strong, too fast, and not even left footed!!

If we look at it this way: Gundogan plays a lot. Silva has gone.

Even if Foden starts plenty of games, still, Gundogan is going to play, a lot.

Foden has to play plenty this season & Pep has said he will & he will merit it, because he's fucking mint, so Pep will struggle to ignore him even if he wants to ignore him (which he doesn't).

So, sign a new midfielder & Gundogan will play less.

We have 3 central midfielders; Rodri, Gundogan and KDB. Its not a case of Bernardo or Foden can do a job there. We need to strengthen and definitely this summer. Aouar would be ideal.

It certainly isn’t a case of Foden can do a job there as a number 8 is his position. That’s where he can become a superstar not stuck out wide

I just don't think Pep will ever put him there full time, he wouldn't play him as a False 9 or on the wing in a cup final if he did.

Foden takes too many risks running from midfield and I think Pep just won't setup that way.

He could score as many as Lampard from there he’s that good at making runs into the box and finishing . He also is very good at keeping the ball he’s not some Diaz type who wants to dribble every time. Then you add his energy that means we could get back to defending from the front and pressing like we used to if he was beside Kev. Instead we end up with a lethargic midfield that doesn’t seem to make us any tighter at the back and had zero energy and very little goal threat like we watched the other night.

I agree completely mate, just trying to put myself in Peps shoes and I don't think we will see Foden very often. I would rather we have a solid midfield of Rodri, KDB and Aouar. The three ahead can be any combination of Torres, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, Bernardo and so forth.
