With the best will in the world I'd rather stay at home than catch another coach to Wembley. The one against United last year, run by the club was an awful experience. Too slow, too boring. Nothing extra onboard, no TV, no sandwiches or drinks, nothing. Getting there we made reasonable time but coming back was horrendous. We were told the coach would leave 30 minutes after the final whistle and they weren't waiting for anybody. I just about saw the presentation and did a bit of celebrating before having to rush back to the coach.

When I got into the pink carpark it was a nightmare trying to find it. When we arrived it was almost empty. Now it was rammed with loads of coaches and people milling around everywhere, it was very hard to locate the right coach. We were then stuck in that coach park until almost 7.30 pm. We finally arrived back at East Didsbury at 11:15 pm
Never again.

When I stopped driving to away games and started using the OSC coach I felt the same way.

You just gotta tough it out until you get 'coach fit'.

There are advantages; you don't have to worry about parking at the away ground; you can read/ sleep on the way there; you often get a police escort after the game.

I'll admit it's not for everyone though.

For the rag final it was probably okay as it avoided trouble on the whole, although there was some at the services on the way home.

It was dreadful for us too after someone decided to have a medical episode in front of our coach and we got trapped on there for an hour, then deciding to change drivers outside a chinese restaurant in the middle of Cheshire/Staffordshire before finally stopping at a service station 50 miles from home and ten minutes before all the food outlets and shops were about to shut up shop. On the journey down the air conditioning didn’t reach the back of the coach neither.

Still it only held the record for worst coach journey I’d ever had for 7 days.

I think that medical emergency contributed to our delay, as well as a coach broken down in an exit. A perfect storm really.
