When we have to go through a slagfest for almost every player we sign, particularly the Benfica stuff, it seems rather strange that Chelsea just seem to escape all the press hype.
It's that used car dealer from Kent again, deliberately making it simple for them just to get at us.

Re: How Come Chelsea Sign Ramires for £16m No Sweat?

Chelsea have done well getting this kid at that price, if it was us we would have paid 23 mill or something. They look to ohave got this wrapped up in just a couple of weeks and had to deal with third party ownership rules.

Its because the Press don't report on a lot of the background stuff with transfers that they do with City?

The press have a fixation on City signing players for inflated fees so they try and get as much coverage out of us as they can

when we have signed third party A have made our lives a misery checking every detail of the deal to make sure its right - for Jo and Tevez this process took weeks - doesn't ;ool of the surface of things that Chelsea have been through the same pain.

It has dragged on a bit, negotiations started 3-4 weeks ago. I think it's become simpler an equation for clubs- we will not offer silly money anymore, and we could have fucked benfica off and moved onto a new target, where as City have to pay crazy money to get that world class team wherever they go.

In a nutshell clubs and players know they can absolutely rinse City, but can't do that with Chelsea anymore and therefore the negotiations take longer.

safe to say its one of those media things, chelsea, already in the 'so called elite / top 3 or 4' depending on which tabloid is spouting bull, then us, trying to challenge the big boys, with loads of money, ruining football. Who gives a fcuk, they'll try to knock us down time and time again, but being us, we'll just keep on coming back. we'll never get a smooth ride.

The differance is that you have a bigger carrot than us with Champs footy aswell as cash but when we get in the same position as you it will also become easier to tempt and negotiate deals.

What Danamy said.
Chelsea are big-fry when it comes to transfers, and this is a good signing for them. We are not yet in their league in terms of making it easy to convince players to join and make negotiations go smooth. Its like a millionaire going to a ferrari show room where he's well known and choosing the next model He's already known there so no point in giving him the big sell for add ons etc, wasting time and trying to extract more money from him. Totally different to a lotto winner who isn't known, he goes and the sales man thinks, 'i'll have this **** over the fucking barrel'. Same with us and transfers, people aren't really taking us seriously in terms of them thinking, 'right Man City are on the line, best get this done quick', which will come in time when we win shit loads of trophies. At the minute its, 'eeaar lads, Man City are on the line, lets milk them for everything they have'.
In time we too will get the same respect as Chelsea - in time.
