The fee for Ramires is £18 Million. That's in the silly money category surely? We paid £6 Million more for Yaya Toure, but he is a better player I think. Is that your comparison? In a nutshell clubs and players know they can absolutely rinse City, but can't do that with Chelsea anymore and therefore the negotiations take longer.
Strikes me as an odd signing because in Essien and Obi Mikel you have players who can close down and win a ball. But Ancellotti knows what he is doing.
I think the original poster's point was that Chelsea signed Ramires out of the blue whereas we fight for ages over Yaya, Kolarov and Balotelli, but his point maybe wrong. You have been linked with ramires for most of the Summer so it could well be negotiations have been going on for some time.
Are you confident of a good season? I should think so. My confidence has evaporated. Too many changes, and no time to settle the players in. It worked under Sven at first, but it didn't take too long before it fell aprt in recriminations.
City are compared with Chelsea all the time, but City are starting from a much lower level. Buying great players for a team that is already successful and is working smoothly is so much easier than what we are doing

Ramires is a weird one because he seems to get so much praise. But I have watched him play at least 20 times in the last 24 months and I only recall garbage performance after garbage performance.

That wasn't me being riled. It was me telling someone who was using my post on a City forum as an excuse to big up his club that I'm not interested.
Perhaps if you enjoy people telling you how wonderful Chelsea are you should ask them rather than trying to force me to enjoy it?
