The only issue with that is that although LBC are open about the political leanings of their presenters they do rely to some extent on the talksport model to keep phone-ins going. This means their presenters are essentially trolling the mentally ill to keep the switchboard busy and the producers tend to let the 'most entertaining' views on.You can be pedantic all you want

Yes. It always felt (from afar maybe) that the UK had one foot in the EU but didn't join the Shengen zone and didn't adopt the Euro. So one foot out.I think the biggest bonus is that they have joined the Shengen zone. Major boost to their tourism.
I used to work in a medical device factory where we had a full time lad in the warehouse changing items from lbs to kgs, inches to mm's etc. as all the contents that made up the products were metric.A bit like the UK's semi adoption of the metric system. Still using miles not kilometres, and ask a Brit how tall and heavy they are in metric and they probably have no idea :)

Politicians are well aware of this and exploit this human weakness.
You present complex issues in simplistic terms and offer a 'solution' and lots will buy that - even if it's complete bollocks. Brexit was a classic example. I doubt whether 3% of the population thoroughly understood what the EU does or the implications of leaving such an important trading area.
But you don't try to analyse it - way too complicated! Instead, you talk about 'unelected bureaucrats', 'red tape'. and 'having trust in Britain.' People like that. They understand it - sort of.
