How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Food for thought:

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

Charles Bukowski

The Dunning-Kruger effect

The researchers attributed the trend to a problem of metacognition—the ability to analyze one’s own thoughts or performance. “Those with limited knowledge in a domain suffer a dual burden: Not only do they reach mistaken conclusions and make regrettable errors, but their incompetence robs them of the ability to realize it."

There isn't enough critical thinking. Too many people just accept what is being said, over and over again, so it becomes ingrained as the correct course of thought, without any analysis regarding the truth about what they are hearing.

As you say, it's a food for thought question, but it's easier to con someone than have them admit they've been conned.

Read a fair few of Bukowski’s books, always enjoyed them.

Hang on a minute, have I just heard right; Sunak when speaking to Coca Cola employees in NI today has said the following:

Northern Ireland is in the unbelievably special position, the unique position in the entire world in having privileged access not just to the UK home market, which is the fifth biggest in the world, but also the European Union single market.

“Nobody else has that. No one – only you guys only here. And that is the prize. I can tell you, when I go around the world and talk to businesses, they say: ‘That’s interesting.’ Nowhere else does that exist. It’s like the world’s most exciting economic zone.”

Whilst the rest of the UK are fucked by leaving the EU, Sunak is praising the benefits of being able to access the EU single market. WTAF???

He is clearly praising being able to freely access both markets without checks and tariffs, not just the EU.

The UK’s ideal Brexit deal would have been free and tariff free access to the EU whilst being free to setup trade deals with whoever we wanted and none of the costs of being in the EU, the next best would be to have that with controls around origin. NI has, on the surface, something about as close to that second option as seems possible.

The interesting part is there is a renewed sense of trust coming from the EU side. Both sides deserve credit for that.

Less 'trust' and more 'morbid sense of curiosity about what happens next' to be honest, plus a general feeling that by the time comes around for anything agreed on now to be implemented it likely won't be the Tories doing so.

Sunak yesterday:
Rishi Sunak has said his new Brexit deal puts Northern Ireland in a "unbelievably special position" because it gives the nation access to both the UK and European Union markets - making it the "world’s most exciting economic zone."

That used to be the case for all of us in the UK until you cunts fucked it up by spreading lies to bigots

If only the rest of the UK had were allowed the same benefits as one small part. Weren't we leaving the EU as one UK ? Why is it right businesses in one part of the UK has advantages over my part of the UK ?
The same deal is available to the UK if it's so wonderful and unique why don't we take it.
