The moral is - always be wary of politicians who promise to 'cut red tape.'
It sounds good, but most 'red tape' is there for a reason. Moreover, in my experience, every attempt to 'cut bureaucracy' leads to increased bureaucracy, although often in a different location.
People want simple answers. I see this every day, whenever I read public opinion in the media. But the world is an incredibly complex place, and there are no simple answers to complex problems. What politicians often do is the equivalent of trying to fix a computer with a sledgehammer.
