"For you and and you", as Jimmy used to say..

I think that the British population know more about the EU than they ever did before and want back in!You're angry, which is understandable, but you're not changing hearts and minds with that little routine. You may not like it, but the long road back starts with hearts and minds, on both sides.
The political establishment have dropped an enormous bollock, now we're in belt and braces country, starting from the bottom, the British need to fall in love with the European project. Right now the party that will form the next government won't even countenance starting that process and remainers like you clearly despise those who voted to leave, both things need to change if we're ever going to get back in.
If we could just join the single market, that’s all I’d want. That mainly what the EU should ever have been. Maybe with shared and co-operative intelligence. But nowt else really.

I mean Joni Mitchell never lied when she sang you don’t know what you’ve lost till it’s gone!
Poll after poll shows majority Brexit regret, but even then there's still a sizeable chunk of the electorate that don't, and no party gets to govern in first past the post without that chunk. Prime Minister Starmer is going to give the vote to EU nationals resident here and I'm certain on the quiet he'll give encouragement to rejoin pressure groups. But right now no major party is even talking about Brexit, let alone rejoining.
The really significant move, the one that will definitely green light the long road back, is when the Tories publicly declare they want to rejoin.
Without a very public declaration from the Tories that Brexit was a mistake, the EU won't entertain talk of rejoining from the perfidious Brits
Those attitudes may have been prevalent at the time of the referendum obviously were. As time goes by many are realising they were sold a lie. We’ll never rejoin the EU. Not in those terms anyway.
The concept is poisoned in this country and the truth is it has been for a long time.
Disney had to rename EuroDisney to DisneyLand Paris because British people didn’t want to go to EuroDisney, it had connotations of boring arguments about the Euro and Shengen zone and it tanked initially, the massive Uk market just didn’t materialise. They changed the name, the English punters started turning up in droves.
We will probably eventually (ie in the 2040s or 2050s) end up stealthily rejoining the single market with tons of penalty clauses that would make leaving again financially ruinous.
One could argue that they were not, what won the Brexit vote was apathy on the remain side, many thought there can’t be that many stupid people who want out, I’ll stay home, and here we areThose attitudes may have been prevalent at the time of the referendum obviously were. There may be a sizeable chunk that still think like that but not a majority anymore and a declining group too.
Haha! Saw what you originally posted, and decided to ignore it, but just seen you came back over 15 minutes for an angry little edit. But you clearly have the edge on us all.
Start shouting at every OAP you meet, scream about how they're nowt but selfish racist fuckers and should die.
That'll fix it.
And I'm the patronising ****.
Not to mention the fact you have to shout and scream at the silly old racists due to their appalling hearing. Simply talking in a normal tone about how they should all die would likely end up with the response “it’s 12:30 young man”Haha! Saw what you originally posted, and decided to ignore it, but just seen you came back over 15 minutes for an angry little edit.
Obviously the patronising **** comment has rattled you, which means it had the desired effect.
Thanks for letting me know.
