How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Quite, because he is not a corrupt lackey or someone who has enriched himself by selling shit to mugs.

At least the Legion d' Honneur rewards those who have given notable service to the state in a civil or military capacity.
I don’t mind people are awarded medals or titles for what they’ve done in public service or whatever reason, don’t mind what those awards are called.
I do mind when it’s awarded for political reasons and those receiving the award can be parachuted into the house of lords or government, I also mind that the government have any say in who receives the awards.

Funny that you mention the term rent free given how obsessed you are with all things Royal, and which to be truthful are of no practical relevance to yourself.

Even to the point of publicly stating that you would refuse a knighthood. Well thanks for clearing that one up as several of us on here were wondering whether that would be the case.
Guy who is the unelected head of my country has no relevance to myself? Fucking hell. How small is the bubble you inhabit?

Whether you would prefer an elected head of state that may have more powers and more relevance is up to you, but the king has very little power ,if any, or relevance over anything you do.

Yes, that’s right, I live in such a small bubble that I fail to recognise that all of life’s hardships and challenges are a direct consequence of the UK’s failure to have an elected head of state. How shamefully naive and unworldly of me.

What I need to do is go out, live and work in a few different countries and then I’m sure I’d find that the UK is the only country in the world to have some form of class system, and that - needless to say - it’s all that nasty King’s fault.

Have you considered applying for the Erasmus scheme?

Your implication was I shouldn't care about the monarchy because it has little bearing on my life, no? So ok, let's apply your logic to other real life scenarios.

Homelessness? Who gives a fuck. I'm not cold, I've got a roof over my head.

Child poverty? They're not my kids, why should I care if they're malnourished and unloved.

Conflicts in foreign lands? Pfft, they're not my compatriots. And the price of fuel has gone up a few pence as a consequence, big frigging deal.

Point being, you don't get to be selectively principled in this life. I'm not going to direct justifiable ire at the corrupt cunts fronting our government and then turn a blind eye to the biggest collection of thieves in this country just because they parade cute kids and put on lavish public weddings a few times a year; in some pathetic attempt to display wholesomeness and well-intentioned duty. Proponents of hereditary monarchies don't get to moan about our healthcare being underfunded, our state schools being underfunded, our transport services being underfunded, etc etc.

Your priorities are either in check, or they aren't.

For the avoidance of doubt, I wouldn’t. I like feeling superior to others who are in my company. I feel having a knighthood would enable me to do this with further gusto.

Think you’ll find you do, and everybody is. Even being a City fan is being selectively principled for many.
You don't choose a football team because of principles for Christ's sake. I'm a city fan because my dad is; had a quirk in fate seen him born thirty miles down the East Lancs I'd support somebody else, wouldn't I?

However, your principles do dictate your fawning over a family gifted a life of luxury with the capital of everybody elses hard work whilst performing no civic duty as a trade off. Crying foul at nurses being criminally underpaid isn't commensurate with the aforementioned principle.

Nurses being underpaid has fuck all to with the head of state it’s 100% down to a shit government. Glad you agree though you do select when to be principled or not principled, as we all do.
