Your implication was I shouldn't care about the monarchy because it has little bearing on my life, no? So ok, let's apply your logic to other real life scenarios.
Homelessness? Who gives a fuck. I'm not cold, I've got a roof over my head.
Child poverty? They're not my kids, why should I care if they're malnourished and unloved.
Conflicts in foreign lands? Pfft, they're not my compatriots. And the price of fuel has gone up a few pence as a consequence, big frigging deal.
Point being, you don't get to be selectively principled in this life. I'm not going to direct justifiable ire at the corrupt cunts fronting our government and then turn a blind eye to the biggest collection of thieves in this country just because they parade cute kids and put on lavish public weddings a few times a year; in some pathetic attempt to display wholesomeness and well-intentioned duty. Proponents of hereditary monarchies don't get to moan about our healthcare being underfunded, our state schools being underfunded, our transport services being underfunded, etc etc.
Your priorities are either in check, or they aren't.
