How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I think some stores will keep some of the more basic goods prices as low as possible, while surreptitiously pushing up the prices on other goods by more.
For sure, but I wasn’t buying crazy things. 2 packets of chicken thighs is now £8, where it was £5 at the start of the year.

Basic spaghetti is 95p as they never have their own brand at 28p. It was 50p in January.

There’s no end in sight either.

I (actually my wife tbh) have taken to doing weekly shopping spread over a few different stores.
Shopping about a bit can result in savings.
Tesco,Aldi,Home bargains.

We did that growing up and it does help for sure. We’re not in that position to need to do so yet, but prices will be starting to bite for more and more people as the rises continue.

Maybe I will shop round more, thanks for the jolt.

Ha,if it was left to me we'd get everything delivered from one store, because I'm lazy.Luckily my wife isn't,and looks after money far better than I do.
We're fortunate, compared to lots of people,no mortgage or loans etc.

Yeah, we’re similar. I never used to do online shopping, but the supermarkets in the run up to Xmas in the pandemic were Covid dens, so we got into the swing of it.

For a quid it gets delivered to our door. Saves on petrol, time and stress of other shoppers who are oblivious to other humans somehow when pushing a trolley.

People over 50? What a generalising load of bollox that is, and that is meant with no respect whatsoever.

Yes it was complete bollocks.

Everyone from an age group (in 2016) that voted leave more than remain is now over 50 (unless they've died).

I also said "people over 50 who aren't life long learners"

Respond in context or don't bother.

I hate to generalise, but in general your post is bollocks.

I actually contemplated whether 'doing some porridge' would be a much better option.
I live in a tiny one bed flat (but I've filled it with culture and vitality), work from the same desk all day and pop out for some exercise in the evening (and make a soup at the start of the week which at least serves me lunch all week).
I'd imagine it's far cheaper.

I do actually have porridge every morning as it happens.
Tend to eat healthy in the evening and only drink tea/coffee/water in the week (although I have a penchant for artisanal coffee beans....we need our little treats).

Just need to think up a crime (non violent of course).

Is bricking a Scouse bus with shatter proof glass non violent?

This needs playing out more and more in the mainstream.

It's a sore point for those who believed in this fictional Great Utopia but, as they told the 'remoaners', they'll have to 'suck it up' for the good of this fracturing, damp isle we're all trying to make the best out of.
Glorious day in the posh end of Rochdale. Might go for a ride this afternoon when Mrs Ewing gets back from her choir! There's will be a coffee stop en route that doesn't charge anything like post-Brexit North London coffee prices.

I'll be honest, we've had an amazing year weather wise and certainly doesn't rain as much as people make out.

I've fallen into the trap of going all in miserable and take it back!
I mean, it's not West Coast Cali weather 365 days a year, but generally fine isn't it.

This is true, but leopards don't change their spots. People aged over 50 and that aren't lifelong learners, and that's a deliberate understatement, aren't going to be persuaded differently.

Xenophobia won't die out but it either diminishes or grows, like smoking cigarettes or heavy drinking habits subsequent generations are less likely to engage in it.
Over 50s aren‘t what?

Protest against the Tories (loudly).
