How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

If Brexit has 'already happened' how come Laura Kuenssberg opened her show today by asking: "...has Rishi Sunak got the leadership ability to get Brexit finished?"

It should have happened already (years ago) but sneaky MPs, devious Civil Servants and lefty lawyers have disgracefully sought to overturn the democratic decision of 2016.

A Conservative government with an 80 seat majority has failed and the ambition of Brexiteers to continually pass the buck is embarrassing. What Sunak is fighting for now is something that Boris repeatedly told the nation was done, and there is the root of the problem - a complete lack of honesty, integrity and morality. Only the most utterly myopic are failing to see where the issues are, and the deep damage that Brexit has caused.

But as I keep saying, Brexit hasn't been done. As you say yourself, Sunkak is now fighting to achieve something that Johnson had said had been completed, because Johnson was a charlatan under the thumb of his green pretty wife.

More buck passing - it wasn't really Boris, he was under the thumb.

What is now happening, is that supporters of Brexit, who are desperate to avoid taking responsibility for what they have done, are saying that it hasn't happened yet because of lefty lawyers or civil servants. It really is embarrassing.

No, it has been completed, but now they realise that what has been completed does not work, so they are trying to go again. I am sorry, but it isn't defensible.

Oh Brexit is done and its shit, they are trying to fix it and make it better ,but most likely will make it worse,because they are fucking idiots.
 
There were Germans in the 1920s and 1930s who were convinced they only lost WW1 because Germany was 'stabbed in the back' by Jews and Socialists.

This was a foolish analysis as any study of the history of WW1 will prove. (Quite apart from the inconvenient fact that numerous Jews and Socialists fought and died in the trenches.)

But it was what certain people wanted to believe. It made them feel better about themselves.

This is where Brexit supporters are at now. The difference is, Germany could have won the war. Nothing could ever have made Brexit work. Unless 'working' includes 'accepting the destruction of the UK's economy'.
 
Big day tomorrow - if Sunak is getting a deal done with van der Leyen he has to hope Ministers in Cabinet like Barclay don't resign on the news in the morning then he has to explain how Parliament expressing its views is a debate not a vote - then he has to hope Labour stands on its support pledge for him as he will face most of the ERG and the DUP plus others not wanting to support his deal - his trump card may be a promise of some sort of gain from the deal - rumour is he gets this over the line then immediately announces we can rejoin Horizon thus shooting Johnsons fox for this weeks news

Looks like he’s pushing it through, regardless. With the ERG coming out in person then you just know that this is good for the country.

Sunak, and not for the reasons many would like, maybe doing something right and fucking off the right of the party.

after Brexit did for Cameron, May. Johnson. And then Truss and the vote was back in 2016 its time for one of them to shit or get off the pot - at least Sunak is prepared to do something I suppose - if he gets a "deal" then the test is can it be accepted and done - if not Brexit is a proven bust......... the wee lad took some brave pills last week

As a rich banker, not so much. He‘s all over this stuff and prepared to stand for his morals.

Sunak does not come across as somebody who wants to take the piss out of the country, he’s too rich for that. Hopefully he’s looking for certain fixture.
