That's basically where I stand with it. I loved being part of the EU. We had an entire continent on our doorstep and it ostensibly belonged to us, as it did every other European nation; so many different cultures and customs we could pass through amiably and freely. I won't pretend to be fully clued up on the economic ramifications (although most reputable commentators now say it's a colossal fuck up), but to me it never made sense to jettison from a continent-wide economic membership. We didn't just cut our nose, we lopped it clean off to spite our face.
And for what? Blue passports and the chance for nationalist arseholes to thump their chest in some misguided display of sovereignty.
