How do you assess our transfer business?

It's a decent window. Not great considering we have weaknesses still at LB.

Rodri and Gundogan are a weak link when we come up against teams that don't allow us to do what we want and with Fernandinho ageing we badly needed a replacement/someone to rotate with him. When he was moved to defence last season we became vulnerable. Same as against Leicester, he was subbed and we fell apart.

The striker position has turned into a problem area and could be without Aguero at points through the season.

is left back really a problem area?

Mendy
Zinchenko
Cancelo
Ake

These players can all play in that position. Ake might not be a natural lb but delph wasn't either and he had some great games in that position.

I think it is yes. Mendy is our only recognised LB and his knee injury's have really impacted his game.

I will be interested in how Ake does at LB.

The other two aren't good enough for the position imo.

Cancelo had a good game at lb not too long ago, right?

When the league was pretty much done and dusted and everyone was just going through the motions.

I didn't think he was good at RB so I don't expect much at LB either.

I'm sure Pep think's he can do a job at LB but I think that's part of the problem, we need players that have the capability to do more than be a stopgap.

I’d assess our transfer activity this window (I’m assuming that our dealings both in and out are now finished) is 8.5 out of 10.

The defence is noticeably strengthened with the arrival of l Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake, the attacking midfield is back to where were pre David Silva with arrival of Ferran Torres.

We have certainly missed Sergio and when both he and Jesus are back in the coming fortnight - 3 weeks - there should be positive results on the field As we climb back into the top 5 in the table.

With the new additions I'd say we are stronger than last season so over to you, Pep.

Even with the injury problems we had last time around it can't excuse performances such as Norwich or Newcastle away in the league, the no show at Wembley v Arsenal or Lyon in the CL. Unfortunately, Pep doesn't seem like the manager we had in seasons two & three with us.

Massive problem area . Every week teams exploit our left backs and every week we have his same conversation. Mendy should be nowhere near our first team and zinchenko is not good enough either which leaves cancelo who played well there but got rinsed against Lyon and now we gave ake who we have yet to try .
