I am no Luddite mate and all for advances in technology, but I have to disagree with the vinyl thing. My vinyl collection pretty much sound tracks my entire life. There is a life times worth of memories attached to it. Yes it has cost me a ridiculous amount of money considering a lot of them go for pennies now, but It has been worth every penny. Every record holds a memory and every vinyl collection tells a story.
I have a lifetimes worth of stories attached to buying vinyl, where as I don't have a single one from listening to Deezer in the car.
There was a lot of time, effort and love put into collecting my vinyl, but also a lot of pubs, clubs, gigs, festivals, mad nights out, new friends and partying to go along with it.
I use Deezer for ease, but I still get a buzz out of the postman knocking on with a new record.
There is a lot more to collecting vinyl than just buying records :-D
I haven't bought vinyl since 1987 and very rarely play my vinyl but I won't part with the several hundred LPs that I own until I absolutely have to. There are a hell of a lot of memories attached.
I moved onto CD's, which lack the romance of vinyl, but building that collection is still a labour of love.
