How do you pass the time in the maddening nothingness between matches at the business end of the season?

Fair play! When are you watching last season's two games against Madrid back in full?! Surely that's on your schedule!

I timed my stint away from Manchester quite badly. December 2010 I decided to go to Australia with a mate the next Feb. Last home game was Everton. Snowed quite badly so got there late and we were 1-0 down before I was in my seat. Missed the FA Cup final win and the Aguero moment. Came back to make my dream come true and see City win a trophy in the flesh though, snapped up a ticket for the Wigan FA Cup final...didn't quite go to plan and my first time back to Wembley due to the subsequent paranoia I was to blame, was the semi final a few weeks ago!
My last three home matches were:

City 2 - 1 Soton: the storied Sterling stoppage time curler, with him and the team running the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of our section.

City 1 - 2 Basel: dead rubber—as we had put 4 past them in Switzerland—this was on my birthday, with my missus who is from Basel, so it was an interesting experience, as one of her cousins was sitting in the away end and we went for drinks with them after.

City 4 - 0 Brighton: fast start for our lads, brilliant performance from Sergio, and a great day out, save Laporte’s injury, especially as I hadn’t be back on some time, and in retrospect, likely my last match in the flesh, as then the pandemic came, my health went to shite, and I know can’t travel. Fitting result to finish my match going career, though!

That’s just killed 30 minutes remembering those, cheers!

Mixed bag there! Where are you these days then?

I hate watching on telly, wasn't used to it and makes me feel helpless. Being there in the flesh you can see the patterns of play better and when you shout it feels like you might be heard. Surrounded by blues who are going through the same emotions is much better than doing it on the TV on your own and only having your own thoughts.

Life's changed a lot for me since the years of attending regularly. I'll be back going week in week out soon, just waiting for the kids to get to an age when they can come too. Took them to the FA Cup semi which was hard work, but amazing. Lucky bastards to get to Wembley so young in their lives, even if it was only a semi final!

N these difficult times, I try to fill the time by making ends meet. My voluntary job as a befriender, allows me to siphon off a few quid from every old person I visit, either through cash in teapots, they didn’t know was there, the daft, sweet, old fools. Or, selling their stuff on EBay. Jewellery does particularly well. I’m even learning about what to look for, no way is any **** ripping me off.
