How far back in time do your City memories go.

I was 7 and it was December 7 1968 and City beat Burnley 7 - 0 with the Goals coming from Bell (2), Young (2), Doyle, Lee and Coleman. I once started a thread asking the older posters if they had any memories of the Match and was told that the Burnley Keeper had a nightmare. The best memories of that time though are of playing Football in the street on a Saturday morning and then my Uncle John turning up to tell me we were going to Maine Road.

Mine was either 72 or 73,we played Stoke drew 0-0,but I was hooked.
Dad had done a foriegner for someone at the club and we got tickets in the Main Stand, spent most of the match watching the Kippax(I was only 7).

My first ever game as a kid with my dad 14 Jan 1994 vs Coventry City at Main Road it ended 0-0 if my memory serves me correct I think it was the first time that season we failed to score at home (typical) I also remember Dibble making some good saves that kept us in the game and watching Flictcroft and thought he was my favourite player was gutted when he left for Blackburn.

I only remember my first game because I was so scared by all the noise.
It was a 3 - 1 win against Coventry in March 1968 ( I had to ask my Uncle Jim
who took me ). I was only 5 and didn't really have a clue what was happening.
My first game that I actually chose to go to was Leeds at home in '73. We won
1- 0 and I got my little head kicked in by three so called men (Lids fans). I've
hated Leeds with a passion ever since.

1985 against sheff wed I think. I remember Tony Grealish absolutely running straight through someone and wanting to be a midfielder. "Dad, he's me hero". We got beat. Always did. 2-1 i think. Imre Banana played for them i think.

Earliest I can remember was the FA Cup 5th Round 1973 - City 2 Sunderland 2 - we lost the replay 3-1 and Sunderland went on to... well the rest is history

And good god some footage on YouTube - I was right behind the goal in the Platt Lane End

City were always "around" in my subconciousness, mainly through having a dad who brainwashed us through subliminal messages, but the first match I remember was my dad shouting at the TV during the '81 cup final replay before slamming the front door off its hinges as he banged out of the house to the pub.
The following day we were on our way to Manchester Airport going on holiday, and my dad noticed the City bus coming back from London. We pulled up next to it at some lights and my brother and I (6 & 8 years old) hung out of the taxi windows waving. All the players waved back or gave us the thumbs up apart from one (not sure who) who winked and blew a kiss at my mum who went red and started laughing. This put my dad in a bad mood because according to my dad my mum had "flirted" with one of the players (through a car window?!)and we spent the whole flight to Corfu in silence because my dad was jealous and my mum accused him of overreacting. And she was a red....
