How good was Yaya?!

I refuse to argue with you. You're a proper pal :-)

I wasn't saying what the rags or Liverpool would have lauded him, I'm saying that I would still think the same about him even if he was one of their players

As I said earlier; if we'd won the CL in 2014, Yaya would almost certainly have won the Ballon D'or. By the same token, if Ederson hadn't kept us in the game against Inter, Rodri definitely wouldn't have won the Ballon D'or. That would have gone to Vinicius Jr (for obvious reasons of course).

I leave in peace ;-)

You do deserve a chinese burn though mate ;-)

Rodri was also player of the tournament when Spain won the Euros. And Vinicius didn’t win the CL either. :-)

That goal at Palace and at home to Villa in 14, both crucial in winning the league.
Also had a great spell of free kicks and pens

How good is it arguing who is the best out of Yaya, KDB, Rodri and Silva et al. Arguments for them all, I'd probably go for Silva but I've changed my mind as I type.

What was the furthest we got in the CL with him in the team? And someone claimed hes in top 5 players of all time? Mental.

A great player for us, at a great time and a big game player but the off field stuff will always tarnish him.

Does he get into a midfield ahead of rodri, kdb and silva?

He won us a league or two but the others went even further not only winning leagues but smashing them, breaking record after record, trophy after trophy inc the big one.
After we started winning trophies yes, we just going to forget 30+ years of NOTHING?

Never been as nervous before a game as I was vs Newcastle away 2012.
Coolest guy in the stadium, big Yaya.
Massive play and massive part of our history.
Awesome player
Incredible player, a machine Loved him

It's in the guardian and other reputable papers, not all interviews are recorded. He hasn't got a statue because the club knows what he is.

Or he'd have gotten one.
You lost me at the Grauniad being a reputable paper.

Lots of hatred on here which is sad. I'd say have a dig at him, but some of the stuff on here goes beyond that and into pure hatred. Don't get it. Probably the same kind of people that keep me well away from Off Topic (Christ that used to be a really good forum).

Same as with David Silva.

Only maye two players in our squad are at present anywhere near the level Yaya was (even when he first arrived) and that is Rodri and maybe Haaland
The rest dont even come close....

Thats how much our level has dropped off in terms of players we are recruiting.
