They won't remember Samaras' stunning volley v West Ham. They won't remember him winning the game v Sunderland, they won't remember him coming on at HT and winning the game against Everton with our last 2 home goals that season.

Samaras was appalling last night, had a chance to do something on a worldwide stage ......and he played the way he did! Nothing changes. Everyone's mocking Celtic and the SPL after the result last night but when you get £2 Million a year from TV rights in comparison to English sides, even Newcastle who got £18+ million for crashing to the Championship it gives you an indication of what we're up against. The Premiership is by far the richest league in the world and the likes of Celtic can't compete, although they did alright against a well drilled outfit who've recahed the Q/Finals and Semi Finals and one Final of the Champions league in the last few seasons.

Thats the problem. I remember Rangers with the likes of Gascoigne, Frank and Ronald De Boer, Gattuso, Arthur Numan, and lots of other quality players. Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup, with a team of locals. Scottish football just cannot compete financially these days. Changing to a Summer League won't help either.
