How long will the rebuild take?

I'll say again, liverpool signed one player in the summer and look transformed.
Liverpool players also seemed happy in interviews after Slot got appointed as in having a change of manager, That's not saying they didn't love Klopp which I'm sure they all did, But they all seemed happy with a new man with new ideas around the place.

Maybe, Our lads want the same, Who knows. Personally I think Pep will turn this around and get us back to were we want to be once we have a rebuild.

No, I don't think the players want Pep gone.

I mean you could be right, we praised kompany for leaving on a high. I think sometimes the same logic applies to managers. I also think pep will turn this round but i think this seasons a write off and things will get worse before they get better.

Think we can do the majority of it in the next two transfer windows but we need to be ruthless. Obviously we aren't going to see an exodus in January but we can bring a couple in. And then move on who needs to be moved on in the summer.

Maybe we need some different coaches with Pep

Could take as little as 2/3 very good players.

Most probably 3/4 windows.

Maybe having a small squad will actually help us rebuild faster.

I’m glad the club backed pep with a new contract. Nothing says loyalty than a new contract in turbulent times.

Walker
Ederson
Stones
Kdb
Bernie
Rodders
Gundo
Phil

The above have gave us some fantastic moments and have not been adequately replaced.

Grealish
Doku
Savio maybe harsh
Kova
Rico maybe harsh
Gvardiol

All the above were either brought in to supplement the main players or provide adequate competition. In evidence, these group of players are not a patch on the previous.

Look at the difference in quality.

The clubs recruitment has failed massively. Not going after better quality and hoping pep can keep on performing. He is good, got a tune out of some good players.

However, he can’t get a tune out of inferior players. Unfortunately that’s what we have now.

We got complacent.

Identify the mistakes made and start a ruthless cull. It won’t be pretty but necessary.

It took pep 1 season to transform us from the shambles we saw in Pellegrini’s last season to centurions

Can he do it again? Has he got the hunger and energy to do it? Will he get the backing off the club?

I dont think Pep ever had a slump like this. he never had to manage through this brutal bad form at Barca, Bayern or here before. 1 win in 10 games.

remember how livid he was when we lost a Carabao game to Soton 2-3 years ago? how he must feel now losing every week.

40% of our issues are injuries. another 40% is the awful transfer windows, squad planning, no one to blame on that than Txiki and Pep. last 20% is the form of the players that are playing. cannot imagine Bernardo, Foden, Walker, Ederson form is off a cliff really. Savinho aint much better, yet to score, and honestly wont surprise me if he goes all season without scoring. he had a spark around August, but his form kind of went down a lot.
Grealish very poor imo, this was supposed to be his redemption season after missing the Euros and working hard in the summer to be in top form, where is that top form?
Gundogan past it really. could be useful in rotational role but being flogged for 90 mins multiple times a week, wow.
Foden POTY last year, yet to have a real good 45 mins this season mid December. nonsense.
while others in his level like Palmer, Saka scoring and assisting almost every game they play. Foden has 1 goal in PL, no assists. who is replacing all his input from last season?(what about Alvarez's input while we are at it?)

back to Pep, his solution to the current slump aint working. we try to play same way as previously just with worse, older, slower players, badly out of form. its a risky way of play as it works with specific set of players playing close to top of their form. then you can camp on opposite half with your defenders passing around and break down buses by raising tempo of passing, making moves around the box looking for gaps.

a rebuild should have started already, what was the plan on KDB, Walker, Gundogan, keep them 3 more seasons?
dippers had a very old midfield of Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, all reached past their best, Fabinho wasnt even 30 maybee when they shipped him out to Saudis.
they went in big with Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, McAllister and dont forget they were in for Caicedo and Zubimendi just missed out on both.

I wish we had signed Raphina from Leeds who is very good in G+A, rather than Doku or selling Palmer.

current squad ran its course, did very well part from this season, but now Viana in for a shock with the mount of changes need to be made and lets be honest we made some shit transfers, so its all well to say Viana will sort it and bring in 4 players the summer but what if those 4 are just as god as Nunes, Phillips, Doku, and someone old like Gundo. will that help to rebuild? not at all.

Refreshing the squad mentally can be achieved with 2 players in Jan, 3 would be superb. New recruits with enthusiasm and zest can reinvigorate the squad. Clearly these players need to good enough now to fit in as a current first 11 or a good back up for even better players brought in next summer. We need 2 RBs and if we can only get a good back up this Jan it’ll have to do, DM and No8 with Bobb coming back to play right wing would give a very good platform for recruitment of top echelon players
Right back? What about a left back we haven’t had a good one in decades. The top teams now have two quality full backs with back ups and play a traditional 4 across the back. Gvardiol isn’t a left back neither is Ake. Walker is getting past it. Lewis isn’t a right back neither is Stonesy. That’s the problem we’re having these days and why we’re looking vulnerable. We Continue to play square pegs in round holes. We only managed before because we had Rodri sitting deep controlling the play.

I think our hands will be forced to do something in January we need fresh faces get at least 2 in to help us out. A midfielder with legs is a must that can get back in. I think we will get a bit of improvement when Koavic comes back looking at the options out there there could well be a big fee payed. Also the back up for Haaland has to come in. Hell it might gives us a option to go with 2 up front of need be as we got the wingers to play that. Pep and the club will sort it.

The key for our rebuild is this January. We need at least 6 new players- GK, RB, LB,CB, DM, SS. Nothing less. It's unlikely that we'll add 6 players just in the summer. If we're smart, we'll add at least 2 players already this January. It will also help us fight for our goals this season, which is probably to reach top 4, and this coming summer we can also add 4 more players and things will look much better.
It would be a scandal if we don't bring in players in January.

Fuck Walker off and release Gundog Silva and Ederson off

Cash in Haarland to boost the pot at the end of the season

Then hope we get a rerun of history when we get excited about new signings all joining us——- some of the best days of our golden era we’re going to the ground to meet and greet the likes of Tevez and Adibyor (can’t be arsed spell checking sorry) as Marwood arranged a fast car to whisk them to the ground from the airport
Stealing Gaz Baz and Milner from Villa
Unveiling on debut days of little known players like Vinny

Quite enjoyed Svens summer when he arrived and bought a shed full of players remember seeing most of them at Shrewsbury one night and thinking wow never heard of them but they are better than anything we’ve seen since 1981 Oetrov stood out that night all part of the Hart deal

Why not?

Things are getting serious, this is far more than a dip in form.

No sign of our CBs getting back fit and the likes of Walker finished.
Walker is not just a lack of form his sense of danger and lack of awareness to prevent attacks is startlingly bad and is lack of pace now is highlighting it even more than before. Midfield is easier to play through than the rags and if Haaland doesn’t put away the plethora of chances he gets nobody else is a goal scorer

Walker is finished lets not kid ourselves or live in some parallel universe, the same applies to Gudo, our CB situation is critical.

We don't sort this out quickly we will finish mid table.
