How long will the rebuild take?

Not really sure how a club as otherwise well run as ours gets into the situation of needing a wholesale rebuild. Surely it should be a slow steady flow of a couple of the older players out and new in each year? Most posters here seem to think we need 4-8 players replacing. Doing that in one go would probably write off another season at least even if we buy well.

With a fully fit squad I think if we are cleared on 115 a summer of two big signings and two squad players will have us back amongst it. I don't think we are as far off it as it looks currently.

I think pep opted for a 2 year extension instead of 1 because he knows we aren't going to win the league this year or next year.

Injuries are only part of the concern. The players have been flogged to the ground over successive seasons and now we’re suffering the consequences. Even if they were all declared fit tomorrow, the effects of this spell and this season are going to take their toll down the line.
