How many countries have you been to?

The two ends of the extremes are youngsters starting out and old timers who've done it and got the T shirt, and those who travel for pleasure and those who travel for work.

The downside to travelling for work, a lot, is it plays havoc with your family life. I lost my first marriage because of it and despite seeing the world and experiencing things a lad from Lower Broughton in Salford could only dream about, if I had my time again I wouldn't do it, it's a pretty lonely existence.

And of course I travelled so much for work, that now I'm an old fart, travelling for pleasure has lost its allure.

I understand and respect other cultures a lot more. I grew up in a very white working class community so I literally didn't know other people who weren't the same.

It's opened my mind to learn languages, eat new things and even consider the challenge of working abroad.

I've been to Scotland. Did a tour in my mid-teens with my family.

So whereabouts in Wales did everyone go? I'm from Pembrokeshire which is the far South West coast of the country. I've made a few friends from Caernarfon in recent years so I'll be giving that a visit.

@nimrod That was never my intention. When people on Facebook are checking in to places and uploading photos then I love to see them.

Serbia was a great trip. I got back to the pub after landing (needed a drink) and Ged at the bar was like "What the bloody hell did you go there for?!"

I've not been to Scotland.

I lived in Swansea for 3 years when young, and we travelled round a fair amount of it. Long time ago now though!

Pembroke coast is a beautiful part of the world. A walk from Manorbier to Castlemartin coastal route is a must for walkers, stunning.

I also had a long layover in UAE where I technically entered the country but only to sleep in a Premier Inn so I don't count it. And I've probably had a piss in a service station in Switzerland.

I've not really bothered trying to rack up the countries though. I've been to a few places multiple times and done different things each time, and obviously I've seen quite a lot of the countries I've lived in.

I really want to do Indonesia, but that's fucked for now. Normally an £80 return flight from here too. And Taiwan. And I'd like to get back to Korea and the Philippines. And Japan. And I should do India and Australia while I'm in this part of the world. It's never ending.

I know it. We're a stones throw away from Castlemartin as a family. The village is Angle.
 
Istanbul is probably the craziest place I've ever been to. It's a population of something like 14 million and the culture over there is haggle and get your business.

The hotelier recommended the Nevizade street for food and drink and the touts are absolute swines to get you in to their place. They block your path and start some bullshit conversation with you. Next thing you know you're sitting at a table with a menu in front of you.

I'm never shopping at the Grand Bazaar again. There's no prices and you've got to try and get them down as best you can. If you're not a sales kind of person like me then you've got no chance. I paid about £12 for my Fenerbahce scarf.

One thing with the Turks is that they are very proud people. Welcoming too.

Where have you not been, that you would like to see.

To my shame, I’ve never been to Scotland.
I’ve only driven across Wales. Usually in the early hours of the morning or the middle of the night.
I did stop once in a service station before reaching Anglesey.
The lady serving us was very pleasant.

I'd like to go to Iceland. I was also due in Finland for the Nations League earlier this month but that was soon stopped.

I used to know an Icelandic girl back in the day. Single handedly the most eccentric lady I've ever known in my life. She was brilliant but absolutely nuts.

I see that you haven't been to Greece. Could it be connected to the above emboldened country?

I've not been to South America, Africa, Oceania, Asia. I like to keep to a place where I can get a 'koffie verkeerd' or similar. Thus, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Austria. And then the medical insurance is a small consideration. If I end up on the slab, I would want to make it as inexpensive as possible for Mrs Ewing to get me back to Blighty! Oh, forgot Malta - but I shan't be returning! And then there's Monaco, but I couldn't afford the property prices.

I hate haggling too. Syria was much the same, and the souk at Aleppo was quite fun to watch others on the carpet stalls.

Istanbul was slightly too full on for my liking although I will go back. I'd like to take a boat across the Bosporus and get to Fenerbahche's ground that way.

There was lots of diversity in terms of visitors. Two German lads were on the next table and Ethiopian boys on the other side.
