How many days holiday do you get?

I work 7 days on (24 hours including sleeping at work) and then 7 days off - in effect I have 26 weeks a year off, half of the year!
On top of that I have annual leave of 7 days - however, in the States it is usually called PTO days and if you are sick or need appointments you have to take the time out of your PTO time. Fortunately I am one for not getting ill (3 and a half years on the job with no sick days needed yet)

So I am taking 7 days off in December to come over just before Xmas meaning I can come over for 3 weeks as either side of my week off work, I would be scheduled to be off!

35 days vacation, but every day including known holidays are the same, plus 12 days sick leave per year before losing the pay. So, whereas a week off for most people is 5 days plus 2 x 2 day weekends, that would be 9 of the 35 days, except I have to bid them in blocks of 7 days, with the first day always being a Tuesday, and then being able to “slide” the 7 days by up to 3 days in either direction IF there is enough available vacation on those days!

And that is about half what you need to know to get your CHOICES programmed into the company mainframe, so it can run a sort to see if you are senior enough (time on the job)

Annual vacations are bid for every January and awarded based on seniority. I only have 23.5 YEARS at the company, so I usually can’t get ANY summer vacation! Therefore, I take 2 weeks in January and March, to get away from the frigid Chicago winters, and usually one week in Autumn to get over for some football. If the kids are off school, it is VERY hard to get time off. Once they are back in school, suddenly vacation time becomes available!

There are s9me great aspects to my job, but this is one of the crazy, convoluted, and less than ideal aspects!

Not on an employment contract just working on some big projects so I have no idea - took 1 day off this year so far plus weekends. Going to be off from 14th of December until 15th of Jan though and when my current project ends going to have 3 months break.

God knows but finished work last Saturday and don't have to go in again till 28th September. Happy days

23 + about 6BH but as of next year that goes up to 28+BH as I turn 50. I have to book well in advance and have already booked all of July off next year for a little adventure on the high seas.

I try to limit myself to about 28/30 plus bank holidays, which I think is plenty. I do though only do about 5 hours a day, so every day has a bit of a holiday in it, lol.
