How many hours do you sleep ?

Lights out by 10:30 & usually get around 6 hours max though this time of year with the lighter mornings it can be less. Working from home means I can grab an apres-lunch kip as a top-up - seemed to have missed a lot of the Women's world cup games due to this.

Sometimes I toss and turn so much I wake up feeling like a rotisserie chicken. I’m in bed for probably 9hrs. Get about 4hrs proper sleep and 5hrs of 50/50.
That's exactly the same hours as me and I also do the constant tossing and turning.
I don't understand how people can sleep for 8 or 9 hours straight or those who only ever stay lying in the same position all night every night.

Not many, 5/6? I've heard too much sleep is bad for you, if you're sleeping 24 hours a day you might as well be dead.. I love dreaming, that's the best part of being asleep, dreaming about being unable to convert a simple tap in :( all of a sudden my legs don't work, ball is played in, I'm unmarked, i'm galloping in mid air, i'm through on goal, I can't miss, but I just fall over like a fucking idiot, don't even kick it

Another weird thing is a lot of dreams are in the same places that are instantly familiar when I'm there, but not when I wake up.
if i'm struggling to sleep i try to remember previous dreams, past dreams from throughout my life. they seem to be stored somewhere in my memory that i cannot access during the daytime but can easily conjure up in bed if i concentrate.
they start to flow and i can revisit dreamplace after dreamplace one after the other, but the odd thing is, even though the original dreams usually had other people in them when i revisit them i am always alone there.

i'd be doing that right now if it wasn't for the wine-sodden snoring of a certain copperpot.
