How many hours sleep do you get a night?

Sleep cycles work in 90 minutes bursts, you can actually have 3 hours of sleep and feel pretty refreshed. I don't sleep that in one hit, I'll have a couple of hours during the day then a couple of hours during the night. Seems to work alright for me.

Can't explain it really, just one of those weird things. Gives me lots of spare time though, at nights when everyone is asleep is when I tend to do those little extra things that I enjoy such as wanking into my neighbours plant pots, or cello-taping as many cats to my thighs as possible.

I do 'crash' sometimes, which means that I have a few days of needing 18 hour sleeps every few months, but the prison cell is usually warm enough. After that, I'm back to normal.

Damocles is amazing. He's super hero material!

This is not ironic or sarcastic, I think he's fucking top. If he smoked weed I'd have a man crush on him.

I have an idea about living life that probably isn't the best, but suits me fine. It's like a rule of three or something. Pick 3 things in your life to take up, that will improve yourself. One of them should be physical, one of them should be intellectual, one of them should be something that is fun. I used to have a problem that every time I wanted to do something, if I skipped it for a day or so, I'd feel annoyed at myself and give up because I failed to keep it on track. If you pick three things, as long as you do at least one of them a day, you still get a sense of accomplishment from doing something, even if you skip the other two. This way, you keep making yourself better.
For example, I'm currently trying to get myself to consistently run 8 minute miles for 5 miles (physical), I'm learning Italian (intellectual), and I'm learning the whole Oasis back catalogue on my guitar (fun).
I also do this stuff on here, care for my sick mother, run my own business, play footy with my mates, go to the gym and keep reading scientific papers. I noticed that when you start forcing yourself to live life, you seem to actually do it more often. I know about certain subjects such as genetics or climate change because I forced myself to read about them as part of the intellectual part of the three. After a while, they become natural and you just take them as a given rather than something that's a challenge and you find something else.

Either way, one of the things that I tried once, after reading a paper about sleep cycles, is to take advantage of the 90 minute pattern and see if it worked for me. It was discovered that muscles are at rest in exactly the same manner when you lie down as when you sleep, the only thing that really needs to switch off is your brain. If you take advantage of this fact (i.e. you sleep when your brain is trying to close your eyes rather than when you feel a bit tired), then you can sleep less and get more done. Unfortunately, this builds up a 'sleep deficit', and you crash for 18 hour days every now and again. However, that's only really 12 hours longer than you would normally sleep, and it happens rarely enough that the time gained makes it worthwhile.

WE only get one shot at this life thing, I don't want to spend it resting. Think of life as one big RPG game, like Warcraft. The more you're logged in, the more you get done and more you level up your skills :).

I usually go to bed about midnight, before getting up at ten to collect my dole money, and all being well, I'm back in time to watch The Jeremy Kyle Show. After that's gone off, I'll end up buying some expensive electronics before heading off to the nearest tattoo parlour. When that's done, I'm down at the shops for a few cans of White Stripe before ending my hectic day with another mammoth ten-hour kip. Vote Labour.

Very similar to myself. I'm up almost all night every night then if i'm not in uni i end up crashing for an hour or two as it gets light, time varies between about 8am-12pm otherwise i stay up and go to uni then sleep for a few hours when i get home before getting up tea time-ish to start the cycle all over again. During time off i will gladly sleep through an entire day almost to catch up. Overall i get 2-3 hours a day and I'm pretty much always tired as a result.

Find yourself doing some random things you wouldn't normally have the time to do in the middle of the night.

about 4-5, but my son's a bad sleeper and wakes me up a couple of times in that period

less in Summer as its light 20+ hours a day here so a right pain trying to sleep
